  1. This was mine; it didn't sell. I'm a little suprised, I thought it was a decent price. Anyone want to make an offer before I relist? This is the 3 spd version; not the overdrive. Clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing included. I'll also throw in the e-brake assembly although it needs a new lining. I'll relist on Ebay this Saturday if anyone is interested before then.
  2. Passenger side floorboard; just run a longer cable.
  3. If you check Fatman's Fabrications, I think they have a kit for less than that. Of course I found that out after I paid $500 for mine. On the one that I rebuilt the original brakes I paid $90 for all four front wheel cylinders and just bought rear cylinder kits for about $10 from Roberts motor parts. Then I paid $125 for a new master cylinder from Kanters, so if you shop around, you can get the stuff at a reasonable price.
  4. I'm cleaning out the garage and need to sell some items: 1950 Dodge Fluid Drive trans 1948 Dodge sedan hood ornament with the front panel that it mounts on 1947 Plymouth 4 door sedan parts: Trunklid Headliner bows Headliner side trim pieces (the ones with the teeth that hold down the sides of the headliner) Inner door window trim with vent windows; all four Inner windshield trim Rear window 2 horn assemblies Bare dashboard, uncut Inner fenderwells Make me an offer on any or all of it, I can send pics if you like.
  5. Sorry to hear that, I bought from him a few times and he was really helpful. Hopefully his family is doing OK.
  6. Wow, what a hunk of steel! I'll bet the scrap price from the bed paid for the truck. I love the front end, very classy looking.
  7. I called them; this is exactly what I needed. Thanks, Jim! I ordered it today.
  8. The old wiring is all long gone; I'm wiring from scratch. What do you do in the case of an internally regulated alternator?
  9. #1 terminal to ignition, #2 terminal jumpered to battery post on back of alternator.
  10. I'm getting some kind of feedback through the ignition circuit since I put this GM alternator on. The truck wont shut off with the key, you have to pull a wire off of the ballast resistor to shut it down. An article I read said that in this case, a diode needs to be installed but it wasn't real clear on where or what kind. Anybody had this problem?
  11. Better safe than sorry; I'll pitch it. Thanks for the feedback, guys. No sense in goin to the pokey over a $100 junker.
  12. HMMM... Good question. Dont want to break any laws but I hate to pitch it. I figured on a 58 year old junk car the law wouldn't care but who knows. I do know the tag number matches the title but I dont know if that number was also stamped on the motor. It didn't have a motor when I bought it for parts.
  13. Legality in question; disregard.
  14. Good info, gentlemen. Thank you very much!
  15. Do you have yours between the ignition wire and the coil, or between the coil and the distributor?
  16. When I was changing my Mopar flattie over to 12 volt, I got an article off the internet and it said if you are using a modern 12 volt aftermarket coil, you do not need a ballast resistor because it is built into the coil. Well, I smoked the coil last night so i'm wondering if I do need one or how I can determine if I need one. It was a new coil and only ran a handful of times. Anyone have any experience with this?
  17. I have a brake dragging problem on my 48 Dodge; I tried for hours to get the brake drums to slide easily over the shoes and kept adjusting the eccentrics at the end of the shoes trying to get it right. I just got a manual and discovered that there is another adjustment, the cam bolts! I'm going to try and tear into it again tonight to see if I can get it right. This was the only thing keeping me from regular cruising so I'm anxious to get it fixed.
  18. I made my own using 1/4 plate steel. 67-72 Chevy truck front shocks fit great. It's the best ride improving mod you can make. Send me an e-mail to festusheartsonfire@yahoo.com and I'll send you some pics.
  19. The best price I got for the 48 was from Kanter; $125 and no core for a brand new (not rebuilt).
  20. Sounds great, Jim. My daughter's graduation party is that Sunday but if we get everything lined out early we'll try and run up there.
  21. Where is this at and what time?
  22. I dont know what kind it is but it must be solid gold judging from the price.
  23. No, never have been there. I love this view of the river. My wife and I play in a traveling gospel music group and this looks like the view right out in back of Herculaneum Methodist Church. That's cool that there are so many locals on here! We need to organize a get together sometime, maybe a little car show/bar-b-que or something. I'm just finishing up this little truck I put together and took it on a few short hops around town Saturday. Still a few bugs to work out but for a 60 year old drivetrain, not too bad. I'm thinking of diching the Fluid Drive trans and just using the standard three speed I've got. Here's how it came out in the end:
  24. Very nice ragtop, Bob! We'll look you up next time we're down that way.
  25. Bob, Your dash is the color my wife and I are looking to paint the coupe when it's done. Very sharp! You wouldn't have a picture of the full dash and a code for the paint, would you?
