I have decided to install disc brakes on the 49 Dodge. Who is selling the complete set up for this swap? I want to get everything at one shot as I don't have time to chase around for stuff right now....Thanxz, John Burke

Here in Nebraska, a number of car clubs have individuals qualified to pass judgment on your old car. You buy an old car without a title, take to one of these aforementioned individuals, they look it over a declare that yes it is a 1946 Brummley Whizzer or what ever, and give you a form you can take to your local DMV and get a title. You have to do this BEFORE any customizing or engine swaps. Once you get your title you can do whatever you want with it......John Burke

Tony, sorry to hear aout the double whammy....When I first got my 49 Plymouth Bizzy, it ran great but no brakes. As I was trying to jockey it into place at my house, I foregot about the absence of the brakes and was heading down a hill tword the garage when i realized I was in deep dodo. In my panic I had to choose between the crick or the garage so I stuck the front end into the side of the garage. Lucky I had'nt developed much speed so there was minimal damage to the car or me....The garage? well thats another story best foregotten....John Burke

Thanxz for the interest Gregg...The good news is, Nancy's tiredness and muscle tingling is caused by a massive B-12 defiecency and not a blood or bone marrow disorder...B-12 shots (lots of them) should rectumfy the problem there...As for the blood clots in her lungs, they should be dissolved in about 3-4 more weeks. A regimine of cumidin(?) should keep this under control.....John

WOW!!! it got up to over 60 a few days ago so I uncovered the 49er dodge and backed it out of the in-laws shed.....No mice damage. I keep several of those silent beepers going all the time I have my cars stored along with D-Con. So far it has worked every year..Took a drive to Lincoln, (24 miles)and noticed the brake pedal wanted to go almost to the floor. When I got back I checked the fluid and it was OK so I put it up on the mid rise lift I have, got out the manuel and read how to adjust the brakes....piece of cake...only had to do the fronts as I have a 60's Cuda rear end with self adjusters...Worked...Best brakes I ever had on the old gal.....With the Vintage Air heater and AC I am ready for any weather with clear roads John Burke

There is, what looks like, a super minty Edmunds head for the long block on e-bay right now. Ever since I built the Desoto powered hot rod I have drooled for one of them to dress up the engine. Every time one comes up for sale they fly right past my pocketbook. Looks like this one is going to do the same. Not having been able to work for the past 7 months, because of this damn cancer, has taken my car fund right down to the rust at the bottom of the bucket.. It seems like these heads are more in demand now than when Eddie Edmunds was making them back in the 50's and 60's. Oh well, my road rocket will still do the speed limit just like it is. Besides, old John here has come up with an idea thats gonna blow your minds. Sorry, no clues till sometime this summer when I have it ready so keep an eye on these posts....John

After 7 months of agressive radiation and chemo it looks like I might be out of the woods. Throat and neck cancer is a very painful experience. The inside and outside of your neck are reduced to raw hamburger.Last week I had surgery to remove the lymph nodes on the right side of my neck where a PET scan showed 2 small lumps left. Yesterday the hospital called on the biopsy....Negative....Tomorrow they remove a drainage tube in my neck and the doc says about a month for everything to heal completly but I know it will be a year or so till I am my old self. The treatment robbed me of a lot of my strength...I lost 70 lbs. and a lot of that was muscle...I want to thank everyone who sent me the neat postcards which helped keep my mind off getting depressed and for those who kept me on their prayer list......god bless......regards, John Burke

Hot damn...our local weather man in Omaha says that temps in early Jan should zoom to the 50's.....That means the 49'er is coming out of the barn and goin' cruzin...Clear roads, radial tires, amd a really good heater is all I need for a little goodtime fun....Even if it's only for a couple of days I'm gonna go for it....Anybody out there live near Ben Lomand Ca.? I'll be out there for about 3 days at the end of April.....John Burke:D

Don, I am through with the radiation and chemo treatments about 3 weeks ago. It takes about 10 weeks for the radiation to work out of your system so i am still in recovery...The outside of my neck has finally healed, as the radiation burned it clear down to raw meat, so I am thankful for that but I still have bad burns on the inside of my throat and my tounge (SIC)...the doctor says it will be about 3-4 more weeks before that heals. Very painful and limits me as to my diet although I do have my taste back and have learned how to manage the pain when I eat....mostley softer foods or very small bits as they removed all of my teeth before they started as the radiation was going to destroy them anyways. The + side is I have lost over 50 lbs. The good doctor wants me as comfortable as possible so he presrcibes all the oxycodon I want.I try to limit that to twice a day as I don't want to have a problem when it comes time to quit....Sometime in January they will do a cat scan and see how succesful they were.....might have to have some surgery but we'll see....Thanxz for the concern....John

In cleaning out the FIL'S out building I came across this on the upper floor. It is some sort of brake tester but for what I know not. Maybe some of folks out there can shed some light....The dial reads from 0-50 and says, LINDENDOLL BRAKE TESTER, Made by, THE NORWALK AUTO PARTS CO; NORWALK O.....Thanks for any thou8ghts, John Burke
