  1. Would these be a good fit for a 50 suburban?
  2. Do you have a Suburban? I like the color on this.
  3. My body man has an idea for the gas filler he has not shared with me yet. I am going to stick with the 50 grille. It seems to me less complicated to me. But thanks for the offer. I too have parts off this car that need to go. Dash and heater control moldings and knobs and radio housing. Steering gear and tie rods and ends. Look to be all replated. And when I say body man, he is a very good you friend of mine that I have talked into the floor and rocker repair. The rear quarter repair and firewall rebuild is my job. He does all the hard stuff.
  4. Right rear is done. This had three pieces of metal that need to be repaired. I didn't have any customer cars to work on since Friday. So it was a me weekend. Now for taillights. I have all the original auction pictures showing lenses for the original lights. I have housings but no lenses. Sent an email to the PO. We will see what happens.
  5. A bit more progress. I filled in the 50 fender parking light opening to match the 49 fender. I found a pair of housings for a 49 and I have 49 bezels and rings. Filled the 49 molding holes. They are on the top of the fender seam. The 50 is below. Removed and filled the gas door it just wasn't going to fly. The original hole was filled with a glued in plug and it was falling out so I repaired it too. Working on the rear quarter corners. One done (the easy one) the other under way.
  6. I was told that if you heat and bend the sway bar and let it air cool it is not a problem. And yes I did bend it. I don't think it is tempered.
  7. 1996 Jeep Grand Cheerokee, along with Energy Suspension mounts, and the shortest end links they make. Drilling 4 holes as far forward on the frame as possible gets it hung. Two tabs, 1/4" thick, one on each control arm, gets it hooked up.
  8. Thanks for fixing the title!
  9. I am also going to put the fuse panel in the glove box and the fuse block for the engine controlers. The dash board in these cars will come out very easily to work on any of the computers I have mounted on the firewall. I am going to start build an evaporator unit to house the heat and air. I can't find one to fit in the area I have available so building my own is the other option. This needs to be addresed before the fire wall can be finished for painting.
  10. Any pictures of yours?
  11. The sway bar is from a Jeep Cherokee. I forgot what year but I can look it up if you would like the info. I have a couple of full weekends coming up and I hope to get back on this afterwards.
  12. A look under the car Tone ring installed to read trans revs The engine Jeep Cherokee sway bar Computers
  13. I paid a lot for the the rust that wasnt there. The old repairs are apparent and done with brass. Its the later repairs that are ridiculous. Must have used a 10" drywall knife for the filler.
  14. We had to make room for the hemi and trans so thats how it is heading
  15. And I screwed up the title to this post it is a 1950
  16. I have been asked by some of you for pictures of my project. I am posting some before pictures and some after. I am putting a 2013 5.7 Hemi in the Suburban A580 transmission. This car was supposed to be rot and rust free. After removing two layers of rusted floor, rusted body mounts, rusted rear quarter panels, poorly installed rocker panels and purchasing two front fenders to replace the ones that came with the car that had rust and very poorly done body work I think I am back on track. We will be fixing the rear quarters in a couple of weeks. I have installed a Fatman Cavalier rack and pinion kit too. I will add more engine and trans pictures later. Don
  17. Thanks for the reply. I put the Fatman uprights on mine too. I just need to get it off the drive on hoist and see how it sits. Then maybe cut a coil. Should add the hood too so it has more weight on it. I should post some pictures here on the forum but I have been battling covered up rust issues and poor body work on mine. I would like something better to show the people here. Getting close to that.
  18. Have you cut one coil out of the front springs?
  19. Well I just got news that it has been found. Thanks for all the replies and information. I hope to see it the first of next week. Don
  20. Great pictures especially the end shot. Sunntennis sent me pictures and a sketch but I was having a hard time seeing it. Could you possibly give me the dimensions of the hinge so i can try to reproduce it? Thanks, Don
  21. I don't know if I am getting thru your spam blocker dcolliau@yahoo.com
  22. I don't know how to find your email address
  23. The previous owner said it was in the car and I can't find it. A picture would help me look for it. I would imagine they are hard to find if it is missing. Thanks, Don
