  1. The PO decided to change to 1949 marker lights so I kept that going because I had the new lenses and trim rings. I changed the opening in the 1950 fender to a 1949. The color is a 2006 to 2015 Chrysler gray metallic.
  2. Well I still have my hair! I had the car assembled and taken back apart about three times. The front fenders are not original to the car and the right is a NOS 1950 the left a very nice 1949. So when I tried to bolt up the to the inner fenders nothing would line up. I took them off and slotted all the holes for the inner fenders to allow for adjustment and so I could get bolts in them. Being as I didn't take the car apart originally it leads to some new challenges and some part hunting. I had to shim the core support up about 3/8 of an inch so the bottoms of the fenders didn't lap over the rockers. Then add shims and adjust so the doors would open and close. I adjusted some on the hood yesterday and the gap at the firewall is more consistent now. I still need to work on it some more. I hope to get it a lot closer than it is right now. But being as it is 1950 technology it's happening pretty nicely.
  3. I'll get some pictures of the modified window openings when I get back to the interior of this. I have been adding parts. Still need to adjust the hood.
  4. I can't help with the sliding windows. The PO decided to change this one to a fixed window car. I had to repair his work to get a proper opening for the windows to seal and for better appearance. The glass guy put the side windows in yesterday and they look really good. I was trying to install the front fenders. I really never did understand why a car can be put together and taken back apart and things don't fit. Oh well back to the assembly today.
  5. Can't figure out how I got the extra posts in here. Anyway thanks for the compliments. I picked up the front fenders and the dash yesterday. The glass guy is going to start this afternoon. I'll post more pictures later.

  9. Thanks DJ. That is the answer I was looking for. Now I'm off to spend more money!
  10. Thanks that is what I thought. Now for the tailgate glass.
  11. I have some setting rubber that came with the car. Looking at it it looks to me that the windshield actually sets in the interior of the car and is held in by the inside molding. Is that correct? Also can anybody tell me how the glass goes in the tailgate on this suburban. Do i need a setting rubber with a locking strip? Thanks, Don
  12. No new pictures to show nothing new to report. I am picking up the body at 1pm today. I'll bring it back and start the assembly. I will post new pictures as I add parts.
  13. Thanks gang. Two more parts that I won't be needing. If anybody needs anything don't be afraid to ask. With the changing to the Hemi in this and basically street/hot rodding this car there will be some parts that I wont be using. I haven't had a lot of time to inventory the parts and put them in the classifieds.
  14. Anybody know what these are fro on my 1950 Suburban?

  18. Neil, I just got back from looking at the car. All I can say is amazing! Its hard to tell in the pictures but it came out beautiful. We are going to move it out of the paint shop and back to the painters house for sanding and polishing Monday. It took three of us to pull this off and i am really amazed how flat and smooth the car is. More pictures to follow on Monday! Don
