  1. Oh come on Greg:) Your a Studebaker guy. wah, wah wah, I can't find my parts. I don't know how that go. If Studebakers were easy everyone would have one.;)Those cars leak. That's no surprize, mine does to and you know i just don't worry about it. I worked on my brakes for 2 weeks and still don't have it right. You got to love em if you don't they would be in the junk yard for sure. Take a deep breath and start again, I know I'm gonna get this thing right one day. I do like driving it.
  2. There are so many I can't seem to pic one. I wish the weather was like that today.
  3. Your welcome, I am glad someone is making anything for our cars. Chevy and Ford have all the luck. We got to catch up. Now if they will make fenders, doors hoods.....
  4. This is the original post I did before I got my running boards:) enjoy
  5. Ok, Andy, The company is called Hunley running boards 706-866-4875 There is a website. If anyone remembers when I first started talking about them I had a website that showed them. They are very high quality boards. If you getthem tell them Rodney sent you:p They will probally charge you 100.00 dollars more but what the hay it's only money....right;)
  6. I see;)
  7. Thanks all, I think I have it now. The fog lamps are grounded to the mounting hardware. I will use a fuse between the switch and the lamps. The one thing I was concerned about was if the lamps are connected together. Thanks for the wire diagrams:) Things are getting brighter all the time.
  8. I bought some fog lights some time ago and lost them:mad:While looking for some gaskets I found them. I got the lights to work after cleaning the housing. I replaced the wires as they were to frail. I do not have a wire diagram as to wiring the lights to a switch. I have a nice metal toggle switch which I would like to use. Can anyone show me how to create a wire st up for the lights?
  9. Robert, they made the board and vulcanized it. They are very heavy. When I removed mine I could use one hand. When I handled the new boars they were a two hand job, From the look of it undernath It's new metal that has been coated with something that is rust proof. It looks so nice ans I don't think they will wear out in my life time. I recomend them. They fit great. What a great addition.
  10. Well, I got my nerve up this morning and installed the running boards. After getting the 41 Stude out the why(brakes like new) I bought the 1940 in and started the task of replacing my home made running boards. I know a lot of my friends did not want to say anything about them but they were bad as the years went on. I cut a few bolts and found that one of my running board brakets were bent bad. I got it right with the help of a floor jack and some vise grips. All in all it came out great they look so professional:D I think I like them.
  11. Hey Joe, Just start working on it. look at it and just dive in. You have not worked on your car in so long your battery died? WOW, That's some real neglect;)How is the chevy running. I knoiw it's perfect. I have to get over and see it. I suffer from the same thing. I just got my running boards about a week ago and still have not gotten around to it. I have been knee deep in this Studebaker. I was just going to replace the wheel clylinder in the rear. I ened up replacing all the shoes, wheel clylinders and hoses. I don't know what happened:eek: it snowballed.
  12. I don't think the price was to inflated. The first guy I talked to wanted 635.00 and another 100.00 if they were not cleaned(sandblasted) Andy these only cost 535.00 plus shipping. The great thing is I still have my original boards. I might have to drill a couple of holes but that's not an issue at all. I am trying to finish up on the front brakes of the 41 Then I can pull the Plymouth in and get started. There is so much to do. When I did not have a place to work in the winter I would get somebody else to do it now I don't have that excuse:mad: I still like it. The front wheel cly of the 41 is leaking so I had to get a new one the theads of the wheel cly to brake hose are striped. What can you do:rolleyes:
  13. what is a buck eye runninhg board?
  14. Well, the running boards have been in for about a week. This is the first time I got to look at them, with all the traveling and visiting I have been doing I got to check them out. WOW, they are fantastic. Just wonderful I could not ask for a better looking set. I will install them after I get the 41 Studebaker out of the studio. The brakes are not working out I sent for some new wheel clylinders as the rebuilt ones:mad:are not holding air and fluid. I am very happy with these and now the little plymputh is complete.
  15. I had a great time today and I got back in time to see my team lose...again. Everyone was on their best behavior:eek: i was surprized. we had a little breakfast and headed out. This place is just 71 miles away however it travels thur some very small towns . I love the small town feel and when we stop off at little stores it's interesting to see what they have to offer. They had some really neat cars, they have 5 chryslar Imperial limos going on at the same time. These cars have 5 air conditioners I saw it with my own eyes. They are able to withstand 158 degress. They use 5 core radiators and pulleys that can turn the water pump to increase flow. They bought 6 parts cars to make these cars. They had a 29-30 whippet just came in and a number of Jaguars. Then he takes me in a huge garage of cars pending restoration and there it is a model A 1929. This car is a sport coupe, it has a soft top however it is not a convertible. The guy passed away and the family does not want the car:eek: all the hard work has been done. I have been hinting to my wife all evening on how great it would be to have it. It would help if I did not have a car in the interior shop right now. They do wheel cly's and reline brake shoes so if any of you need that stuff give them a call. This guy is really nice. I guess we will have to plan another road trip maybe after the Holidays. we just might go back to Martha's
  16. Hey Bob, You trying to get me in trouble:)Seriously, They are a great outfit. The person you are talking about is BillyII today I will be taken on the tour by Billy the 4 can you believe that! The grand father had a repair shop that expanded.

  18. Well, I am back at going on my famous road trips. Tomorrow we are going to the famous White post restoration shop up in White Post VA. I taking a load of my rowdy friends and I hope I don't have to leave anyone. I got no problem leaving folks on the side of the road in the middle of no where:mad: They have made me mad before I will not think twice about it. I hope we have a good time:rolleyes: Pic's to follow I hope They have a plymouth up there.
  19. I can't believe it:eek: Hostess going under, after all the money I have invested in that company. Not to mention time. You know I have a stash of hostess products that would make an army proud. I have enough HO-Ho's to last 5 years, twinkies those are just snacks. The snow balls and chocolate cup cakes are the big ticket items. do even think about the honey buns.
  20. Last Thanksgiving I was kind of bored However this year we went to a pie run in davidsonville Maryland. It had about 50 cars and folks were coming and going all morning. I see a new thing with the hot car guy's, they burn rubber until they break their cars then spend the remainder of the time fixing it on the lot. Everybody helps but such a waste of good time. A belt here and hose there all in all I had a great time. Come on guy's no pic's of cake or pie this year. lat time it was heaven. Oh, thanaksgiving to all and to all a god night:D
  21. I will be ordering my running boards this morning and will be be so exited when they arrive. I have ben saving my pennies:p I have to get my little coupe in order as it is my ride to everybodies house when the holidays come in:) I will save my original running boars as you never know what will happen in the future.
  22. Here is the stock wheel I have.
  23. I have the original one that came on the car when I got it. It's in bad shape and I don't have the center. I will try to post a pic of it. It's that god awful brown. I have alot of steering wheels hanging all over the place I resently put them in a plastic bag.
  24. The open sky, the golden fields and your blue coupe. it don't get better than that:) Wow, that's nice. Robert, I don't see how you get any sleep at all. this is my first year (winter) with a heated garage. I have been in it every night. I need a vacation so I can get some sleep;)
