  1. The easiest way to tell if your system is flowing is to remove the radiator cap and while the car is running rev the motor. If it's flowing you will see the water moving if you just look down the radiator opening at idle you might not see anything also make sure you have a non pressure radiator cap on your car. These systems are not pressurized. 189 is not hot for these cars.
  2. OK Don, I'm paying attention
  3. I kinda did, My problem then was the adjustment nut was loose. I tightened it and the problem went away. I still need a steering box rebuild. I have been working on other projects so I have not been driving the Plymouth. Boy the summer went so fast.
  4. The companies name is cover up enterprises out of blue bell PA 215-654-0252 I would see him all the time at carlise and Hershey. Don't know what happened.
  5. There was a guy that had a car cover company, he had a tent and would be at all of the shows. I tried to call him however the phone has been disconnected. Does anyone know what happened to him? Thanks, Rodney
  6. No Jim but I did worry that Pontiac guy to death. Love that 1966 2+2 convertible.
  7. I know I know. What can you do!
  8. Hey Don, That shirt was a gift from a very good friend. My biggest dream is to have a Model A coupe traditional hot rod with...you guessed it a flat head ford motor.
  9. Thanks Greg, I saw the pic's posted by the Gentleman. He took a lot of photos. I talked to him before. He loves his Studebaker.
  10. Hey Chet, I was wondering what was going on with you. Glad you are recovering. yes, Greg it would be nice to get you guy's back out here. The show was great. It was a little over cast, when it started to drizzle everyone acted like their cars where made of salt. The wife and I got tired so we left at about 2 o clock. That trip to York PA took a lot out of us. we still have not recovered. There was a car at the show that I was very interested in. 1966 Pontiac 2+2 convertible. There is one in my mechanics yard that the guy left there 6 years now. I would love to rebuild it. This would be a great addition. I am only dreaming
  11. I tried to post a pic of the Plymouth but it said the file was too big. but wait there it is! great looking car.
  12. I went to The Sully show for fathers day. I had such a great time. I saw one of our members Jim. We talk for a while to catch up. Jim has been doing a lot of things to his car. He work very hard to get the car to the show. I went over to see Jim's car and took notice of his story board. It's fantastic. I had never seen it before. I need one like it for my car. I will have to ask Jim about it the next time I am with him. There lots of cars there and one car that I flipped over...1932 Plymouth 3 window coupe.
  13. Side bar, since I have been working with the terminal block the lights have gotten brighter. Strange it almost looks like I don't need the relay
  14. Hi all, yes I am revisiting the subject again however this time it has a twist. The headlight relay I got this time is not the heavy duty one used earlier. This one has only 3 terminals "B" at the fuse then there is a "HB" then a "H" on the other side. I put current to the battery side and the lights go bright however when I cut the lights off at the switch the lights stay on. I know that this headlight relay will only use either low beam or high beam. I just don't know why they are not cutting off when I turn the switch off. Any help is always welcome
  15. Yes, I saw both. Wish I could have seen you. I was right in front of the main building on the second row. I had a purple 1940 Chevy coupe. I need to learn how to reduce my pic's. That 39 toured the field many times great looking car. I saw the Tan coupe once or twice, lots of great looking cars.
  16. I was wondering where you were, nice to see that logo. Go Claybill.
  17. I had concerns like yours some years ago. I made two changes, first I changed my thermostat to a 160 these old cars look at that as the norm. Then I changed the water pump to the one that NAPA sells. It is a non grease fitting one. Once the thermostat opens the water flows even at idle. The coolant mixture is very important as the timing of the motor. All these things together make these cars run cool even in hot weather. Mine runs on the hot side with air flowing and the car moving I have not had any problems. If you look back on the archives with my car you will see some of the things I have done.
  18. I wanted to post pic's however the site says they are too big.
  19. I was at the nationals last week in York PA. They had many Mopar street rods there. I see that our cars are making an impression on the rodder world. I drove a Chevy 1940 only because my cars are original. I met some street rod Studebaker owners as well. Everybody was in good mood. lots of cars and people. The heat was intense. It's like somebody turned it on Thursday and forgot to cut it off.
  20. I have used bumper jacks all my life. My Grandfather taught me how to use and test it. I have been shopping bottle jacks lately only because at these all original shows they ask if you have your cars tools. The floor jack is used at home all the time. On the road the Bumper jack is king.
  21. No It will not fit. it's a different configuration. the 1940 has a outer ring around the horn button and the 37 does not. it's a real nice steering wheel. yes, I will sell it. I traded it for something so I would like to get some of my money back. Anyone interested please e-mail me mightlock@aol.com To bad, I really like it!
  22. Hi Bob, how are you? yes, I'm up very early. I'm going to the holy donut this morning. It's about an hour away and the crowd gets there at 6:00 by 9: 30 everybody is back home.
  23. Hi all, I am wondering what is the best vacuum port for a automatic trans. The trans in question is a turbo 350. Is the manifold itself best or the back of the carb?
  24. I just got my hands on a 1937 Dodge steering wheel in excellent condition. A street rodder had a box of parts and I was looking though it the other day after helping with her car. This wheel was wrapped in a real in nice leather cover. The wheel has a tan finish. It did not have it's center button. I was wondering could I use it as my new wheel and use my button? My interior is tan so it would look real nice in my car. Were theses wheels the same from 37 to 41?
