........ on the rear brake hose ?
-
Maybe, ........ I am putting 1994 Mark viii seats in my '56 Plymouth (and unknowingly) if they have the seat memory position switch door panel for driver 1, 2, etc then the seat has a microprocessor inside it with many wires, even with a wiring diagram I could not get it to work, I direct wired it from the switch to the motors to get it to move but the seat switches are designed for low current, I am trying to get some relays to work to replace the processor. (I hope).

Aftermarket back up lights fit right in on my '56, I did a DYI post here: (not sure if the link works) http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=54739&posts=3&highlight=backup lights&highlightmode=1#M456816

...... I must be missing something here ?
-
Should be two different types of rubber mounts, one with a raised small shoulder, that goes down into the frame mount hole from the top, (had to enlarge the holes on ‘56) under the body. The other one without the boss comes up from the bottom. The same as the picture. The sleeve is prevent over tightening.

I have been following this saga with morbid curiosity as I am also doing a frame off but on a '56 Suburban (the frames are almost identical). At age 74 if I am going to physically be able to continue to enjoy the hobby. even if it is only for one project, and for safety reasons, I had to get a Rotisserie. Best $ 1000.00 delivered I ever spent.

Hi Paul,...I must have left this thread as subscribed because I started getting emails. So great to see you doing OK and back to work on a car. I have not frequented this site as my project plans changed and to be real honest I did not need the cranky ignorant attitude of some of the members, life is to short! Keep up the good work and you have no idea of how much help and assistance your posts have been, thank you. Ray.

Why should body work be any harder on the knees then mechanical? My knees are shot too, and I’m just a little younger then you are, and it mostly comes from life, including 20 years shop work ( mechanical), sales counter, sports, and being stupid. It is not the type of work,……. it is the location of the car, ……if you have to kneel to do body work, (or mechanical) and I know we do, and especially as we get older the car has to be higher, much higher, and much more accessible. (read hoist). Now if you are looking to save your knees and farm out the body work that is a good idea, but I don’t think it’s just body work, it is part of getting older, and I hate it, I just today had to quit hockey for good after almost 40 years . PS: I have found that large floor gardening knee pads are a great benefit, ......not sure what to do about the get down and especially back up though!

Thanks for posting,…. great info,…….. much appreciated.

Tough crowd, Paul. (You didn’t actually get a new camera did you?)

Well, ……no answers to your question yet, ……..so you’re stuck with me for now. This will bump this to the top and I have to say something outrageous to get the attention (and further contempt) of the herd. Like; “I would think that a complete wiring harness out of a fuel injected Mustang will work”! Just kidding, …………………….BUT (there always is a but)…………………..you know that how we learn things is by doing things outside of our comfort circle. Yes, you have the money (LOTS I hope) to farm out the wiring and not much time but (again) it is all about the priorities that we set for ourselves. Todd, it is too far for me to come and do the wiring, although I sure am getting tired of winter, how is the weather in NC? I think you should do it yourself, with no deadline, or pressure, the enjoyment of doing it and the satisfaction of accomplishment is worth a lot. It’s not rocket science it just looks like it.

You know sometimes you gota think outside of the box once in a while,.................. because it’s covered by the hood and the early girls where a little rough around the edges anyway, ........................why not just CUT the top radiator support frame on the sides and either make a real fancy reinforcement cover for the cuts or mig it for reassemble?

Thank you Bill, I so wanted to know how you did the spring pocket revamp and now the pieces have fallen in place (so to speak). My appreciation is never-ending.

I think it would less complicated to hook up a test battery and two leads, one to ground (base) and if you sight it right into your eye, the light / contact that is the brightest is the high beam!
