  1. The fabrication skills needed to pull this off is impressive. http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/1602-man-makes-real-daytona-out-of-wrecked-srt8-update/
  2. Ditto what the rest of the posts are saying. With all this positive energy, no doubt you will beat it. Well done letter AB.
  3. Speaking as a fellow novice and being a few years younger than you pflaming, your willingness to dive in to the deep end on these things has been fun and educational to watch. The experts give you a good-natured hard time sometimes, but always make sure you're considering all the options and keep you safe on the important stuff. I've learned a whole lot reading your threads because sometimes you ask a question that experts don't remember that we novices don't know. Keep up the good work!
  4. It looks great. I like the red wheels too. I'll be glad to get mine in cruising around shape again like that.
  5. How about this site? http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?year=1955&con=y&make=Plymouth&rows=50
  6. I got the hub centric adapters installed. They look to be really well made and they did the trick. Now I have plenty of space.
  7. Don, how many mph did you get the drill up to?
  8. They had a note on their site saying they had upgraded the tanks and they were now "concourse quality".
  9. It was $375 delivered to my door.
  10. I will be finding out soon.
  11. I've been very happy with Andy B. so far. I didn't really start buying parts until the new owners were there. I recently ordered some distributor parts and they were NOS Auto-Lite in the original packaging in perfect condition. I see they have added some more things like body repair panels, new sill plates, disc brake kits and steering box rebuilding services. I think the Internet is saving these old Mopars. No way would I know what to do without this site and being able to find parts online.
  12. It's a 1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe Business Coupe.
  13. That's right, and with me as the mechanic, there will be so many other reasons I'll be needing a ride home I want to eliminate as many as I can.
  14. That was my thinking as well. Plus, the old tank had been patched once or twice and there was some old seam repairs and it had a good amount of rust and varnish inside. I'm replacing all the lines, filters and I also installed an electric fuel pump. Everything will be new all the way from the tank to the carb.
  15. My new fuel tank just arrived from Andy Bernbaum. It's identical to the original. It feels like the same weight and the build quality looks to match the original. Of course, I'll know more when it's full of gas.
  16. From the album: P15
