Top ten reasons why...1) Cause he gets up too too early. 2) He's got A.D.D. 3)He's funny like that. 4) He can take it. 5) He's been here a long time. 6) He's got way to many posts. 7) He cheated on his 12 minutes in the corner. 8) someone thinks he's a commedian. 9) laughs to much. 10) Last reason-- I'm the new guy???
  2. I figured it to be a math issue (is that rocket science??) he said he had two bolts and I know one had to be long cause he said he had a short one soooo the one needed should match the other long one Tim Adams is a funny guy!
  3. no cheating Tim a full 12 minutes Wow you must have A.D.D. LOL
  4. Probably should use bolts if you want to be able to take off water pump as an assembly with fan otherwise you will hit the radiator with stud type and have to remove radiator.
  5. A couple of tricks..1) instead using pinch off pliers or vise grips on the brake hose try propping the brake pedal down alittle where it closes the ports in the master this will stop the wheel cyl from leaking and saving the lines from pinching them and possible hurting them. 2) also on stuck pistons one can remove one shoe push rod/pin on that stuck piston put the drum back on and step on pedal untill piston is free good to use a helper on this so you can check cyl on each pedal push.
  6. If it the same as a p15 there are two long bolts one short all the same thread pitch.
  7. Wheres the pic of your dream boat?? I would like to see...
  8. I did this kind of swap on an old ford used one part of the three on tree linkage to operate the auto trans and worked great. Glued an old PRNDL indicater to the stationary part of column and needle to the movable portion but the PRNDL had to be backwards :-)
  9. Found a black widow protecting the rear axle which I was going in to do a pinion seal!! In the pic at center slightly to left.
  10. $1500.00 project. Have all glass and trim. Off and running. have car running, removed interior welded in floor pan panels. Waiting for sand blast.
  11. Possible fix---take cauking gun with a tube of black silicone cut the tip real small force inbetween seal and metal and apply small amount all the way around seal. We actually would do this (mainly on comebacks) when I worked at a glass shop back when I was twenty it seemed to work well. :-)
  12. Remove line at carb, turn over engine- check for gas, no gas could be pump, line or hole in line/flex hose at frame just below pump--the pump will suck air there and not get suction! Can try removing line in two places at pump and tank blow air and clear line, leaving line off at tank put little pressure through fill neck see if gas at tank outlet. The car I just purchased had a hole in line right at pump and was sucking air!! fixed this and I was good to go.
  13. Heres a two door cranbrook, is it worth it? http://medford.craigslist.org/cto/2863095929.html
  14. I'm in Chiloquin Or. just north of Klamath Falls which is 10 miles from Cali. border. I have two detached shops for working on cars and storing them. I'm semi-retired 51 years old master certified automotive tech. We have 5 acres here in the high pine desert. Summers are 80s and dry...
  15. few pics!! Getting her home. Working on floor pan.
  16. Yes I blew out fuel lines, tank was clean, ran fuel pump untill gas was clean coming out. Then hooked line back up to carb and she started.
  17. Hi everyone, I just purchased a 1946 Plymouth club coupe!! I'm restoring her. She has been sitting in a back yard since 1984. I purchased her in Redding Ca. She is all original. I fell in love with her lines. I Have restored other cars, but she is the oldest. She needs new interior, body and paint (floor repair), TLC to engine and running gear. We got her to her new home. Applied for title and they said no prob. Installed a new coil, 6 volt battery and condenser, cleaned the points, flushed the engine cylinders and crankcase, added gas and she started and moved in all gears!! Starter was stuck, Generator bad bearings, Water pump leaking....sounds like a fun project!!! She has little coolant in the oil pan so we ordered a new head gasket. We rebuilt the 6 brake wheel cylinders, fought off 2 black widows and have brakes. Removed most of the interior. Cut out rusty floor pan and welded in new metal. Removed rear fenders for body work. She will be getting stripped down for a healthy sand blast. Her rear end is leaking out the pinion seal so ordered that, may have a bad pinion bearing. Purchased new radial tires, her feet were very sore! Shes taking a nap now dreaming of a new head gasket and sandblasting........
  18. Yes thats very helpful thanks!!
