  3. I have this from my 48 and am not going to reuse it. Before I place it up for sale I wanted to test it to be sure it works. Any tips on how to do this out of the truck? The truck is currently dismantled so hooking it up normal isn't an option. Thanks
  4. That floor mat was a great idea.
  5. If you have a charging issue you could be having a spark problem from the electrical system being down on voltage.
  6. Good luck with the next project
  7. That is a great looking truck!
  8. Very cool!! I just ordered mine off ebay. $20 shipped. I'll just take it apart and paint it to match my truck.

  12. Those split rims are scary!! I used to have them on an old 66 Chevy 3/4 ton workhorse. It was my daily driver and when I needed new tires I bought new rims too to get away from them.
  13. Fantastic car! I have a 46 that is going under the knife after I get the truck back together. I just love old Studebakers.
  14. I'm gald to see some of you guys using your trucks as trucks. I'm building mine with that specific purpose in mind. It's going to be a nice looking truck but I'm not going to be afraid to use in for what it was built for.
  15. I am sorry for your loss Tommy. God bless you and give you strength.
  16. Both the front bumpers on both my chassis are just bolted on the top to the frame. Interesting...
  17. Nothing more annoying than brakes that won't bleed. Hang in there you can see the finish line now. It looks fantastic in there by the way.
  18. Alright, got the cab off today. I used a cherry picker and out thought myself. I used the cab mounting bolts to bolt chains and then lifted with the cherry picker. The issue came in with not being balanced and it tilted heavly to the pass. side. My wife gave me a hand though and we handled it with no problems. And here is where it will sit unitll I get the other frame back and start mock up of everything.
  19. Congrats!! My youngest starts kindergarten this year. What a ride. Enjoy!!
  20. Thanks for the tips Dave. After having some dinner and getting more energy I got back out there and unbolted the cab, removed the running boards, pulling the floorboards and unbolted the steering column. I'll be ready to remove the cab this weekend hopefully. I'm also hoping to get the other frame to the sandblaster this week. Just been crazy busy at work so I haven't had the time to bring it over there.
  21. I got some time to work on the truck today. I had to cut most everybolt off only a few were able to be removed. What a mess. Anyway I got the front end off it and now I'm going to start removal of the cab. Any tips you want to offer for cab removal?
  22. Very cool, not much better than the first ride!
  23. That's a great looking truck, please do keep us informed. I have a 55 front end I've been thinking of using on my rebuild.
  24. That's a great idea, it might pull off a red or yellow stripe nicely too.
  25. Hey that's really cool. A funny gesture turns out to be something really cool that most of those kids will never forget. Glad you had fun.
