I hear you, but my point is that the 350/350 or 350/400 thing is getting pretty old. I actually don't really mind random-make engine swaps--a Caddy 472 into a roadster sounds great to me, or a nailhead Buick into whatever. Even a period-looking swap of a 283 into a late 50's/early 60's styled ride can be neat. The issue is every Joe-Bob "restorer" dropping the 350/350 combo into some really neat cars, that had terrific drivetrains to begin with. How about a guy getting rid of a flathead in a 40 Ford for the chromed out late SBC? Come on--that's really lame. And overdone. And unimaginative. Like I said, go ahead and add boat load of billet and maybe some 22" rims, and digital gauges while they're at it. Just my opinion.
But how cool is it to lift the hood on an old Mopar and see that flattie six lookin' back?
