  1. there are 3 kits? Insulation, acoustic, and panels,,,,is this right? You would buy all 3 to do a complete job?
  2. i like it. I'm a ford guy,,so it all agrees with me,,,
  3. I would be interested in buying a complete "small spring set" that you guys come up with. I plan on keeping my truck for a long time,,and would be glad to have any springs sitting on the shelf waiting. If I can afford them anyway +1 on the frame twisting in driveways. Mine twists a lot. Even my modern Fords,,I can twist the bed out of alignment from the cab by 3-4 inches pulling into a field. That is empty,,,weight has nothing to do with twisting. Watch your bed in the mirror next time you pull over a ditch.
  4. we will have to park together,,,I have the EXACT opposite color scheme. Red fenders, black body,,, I do have red wheels though.
  5. what state are you in?
  6. i need a whole engine in ohio
  7. where is the pic? Does everybody but me see it? I swear my springs are on the front of my tank,,,maybe I did it wrong? I did not really like the spring situation,,or maybe my bolts were too short,,,but by the time the bolts tightened, the springs were solid. My bolts are step ,,shoulder,,or stripper bolts, depending on your occupation.
  8. are you sure you wanna make it pretty? I looked at your pic and got real jealous. My truck is all painted and purty now. The dogs get to jump in the bed, and we do drive it,,,,,but I miss the days of not worrying about scratches and dogs jumping on the doors, dropping a rifle down on the hood,,,ect, ect. I need to find another old solid runner..... or start treating mine like an old truck again and just let it go!.
  9. i think there is supposed to be an idler gear in there,,,which makes top and bottom gear run same direction. (3 gears total)
  10. i have bias,,,they ride very rough and follow grooves in the road. I'll be radial next time.
  11. I bet there have been people wanting to save money every day since money was invented.
  12. looks like fun! The steering wheels in back are cool. In ohio,,skinny tires are much better for snow then "them there fat ole mud tires".
  13. that is correct. my truck read 1/4 tank until I added the resistor
  14. i'm guessing something to do with the tire block small slots are early huh? I have 1 rim with small slots on my truck
  15. coming back to finish the thread. I got it all to work. I fixed the gauge reading 1/4 tank by putting the "Runtz" resister on the back of the gauge. To fix the needle jumping,,, the new sending unit had to be replaced. I could feel the break in the sending unit as I worked the lever. We hooked it back up outside the tank and watched the gauge needle when the sender went across the break, it flipped back to "e". Roberts replaced the sending unit, but told me it was my fault. He says that when you tighten up the screw holding the wire on top,,,,if you tighten the screw too tight, you break the sending unit and cause the needle flip. I did have the screw tight because ,,,,well,,,,I hate loose stuff. Maybe it was my fault? Beware ,,and just snug the wire I guess. Seems awful fragile,,,I only used a screwdriver. I made a tool to take out the sending unit from the access hole in the cab. That worked out well. I learned that when you put the old sending unit in and using the old retainer ring,,,if they both are rusty or rough, it may grab and turn the sending unit as you are tightening the ring, bending the tab. A dab of grease smeared around the bottom of the retaining ring cures this. I drove around last night trying to waste some fuel.....just so I could see my gauge work! Really the only thing I did was find out I have a really hot heater! That baby can run you out or make you roll the window down! It isn't real cold yet though,,,,,,
