I HAVE A FLAT HEAD 6 # N.34317.UT. STAMPED IN THE FRONT UPPER DRIVERS SIDE OF BLOCK. CAN ANY ONE TELL ME WHAT THIS ENGINE WAS USED FOR OR WHAT CAR OR TRUCK USED IT? BELOW DIS THERE ARE TWO #s. A2 AND UNDER THAT 12 7 54. DOES THIS MEAN JANUARY 7 1954 ? I HAVE A 54 SUBURBAN I PLAN TO PUT THIS ENGINE IN. THANKS FOR ANY HELP. BILL

WANT TO PUT A/C COMPESSOR ON MY 230 ENGIE.TRUCKS USE A 5/8" BELT IN PLACE OF 1/2" BUT DOES NOT USE A VIBRATION DAMPER. WILL I HAVE A SMOOTHER RUNNING ENGINE IF I STICK WITH THE HORMONIC BALANCER ? OR CAN I USE TRUCK CRANK PULLY AND BALANCE ALL MOVING PARTS? ANY HELP PLEASE BILL:p

Hi, Am building a 230 to put in my 35 dodge coupe. I want to install a/c compressor so would like to use wide 5/8 belt like used on truck engines. Truck crank has no balancer on crank shaft like car engine. Will I have trouble elimitating vibrations if I use this set up? I plain to have all moving parts balanced. THANKS FOR ANY HELP BILL
