  1. The Horkey's bed pads look perfect. Thanks
  2. Does anyone know of a source for the 1 1/2 X 1 3/4 pieces of material that go between the mounting points of the clip and the truck body? I kept all mine, but they are really dry and brittle.
  3. Here is a short video on the gauges https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7zRNaEDiDo I am so pleased they are all working. I can't remember when the all worked last, but I know the temp gauge was not working clear back when I was a kid of 10 or 12. Rob
  4. Hey Merle: My tranny is a non synchronized model. I got the gas pedal moving smoothly now, no grinding of gears now. I learned to double clutch that old truck when I was about 12. I almost didn't post the video because I new folks would comment on the gear grinding, but I didn't know I had the sticky pedal until I drove it out the gate. Anyway all is well now.
  5. DesotoDav. The gas pedal post was hitting the firewall. I made the hole a little bigger when we got back, and now it is fine. The reason the gears were grinding is because the gas pedal was sticking and the rpms didn't drop down when I shifted, all is fixed now, no more crashbox. Thanks for the congrats, fun to be on the road again.
  6. Dolly Dodge is on the road again. My mom and her dog Rachel went with me. I am having a little trouble with hot starts as you will see. It starts right away ...when cold, but takes several attempts when warm. Also the gas pedal was sticking so the shifts are a little rough (grinds a bit). I got that fixed this afternoon. She runs really nice. All the gauges work, no leaks, nothing: works great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNFFpx0owjs&list=UUJACJS-2H6EdCN-Pxuvb4Kw
  7. I got the handbrake installed and adjusted last weekend
  8. Hi all: I was gone for a week but back again. Yes I did the gates, the wheels were off some old fire hose carts. The tach was done by Mark Clawson of Clawson Classic Instruments using and old speedo case and a 6v tach from Westach (it was very hard to find a 6 volt tach, and Mark had to do quite a bit of customizing. I also got my vacuum and volt gauges from Westach). As far as what I was leaning forward to adjust, I was just using my hand to push the accelerator u
  9. Got the tach going. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzWtwtU3MiM&list=UUJACJS-2H6EdCN-Pxuvb4Kw Gave it a bit too much throttle there for a second.
  10. Here is another video taken from and outside camera. Takes a while before DD moves, but it does happen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GPr9uz5VjU&list=UUJACJS-2H6EdCN-Pxuvb4Kw
  11. Not sure why it didn't start for the video ( maybe camera shy) it usually fires right away. Cold starts on DD have been 3/4 choke, Nearly full throttle, and as soon as it fires push throttle and choke in to about 1/4. The other issue is I didn't have the gass pedal on yet
  12. Here is a video of DD on her first run. She didn't start to well for some reason, but I got to take her for a spin. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiEzh2-78eU
  13. How tight should the bolts be on the rear motor mounts. The manual says to leave them lose and run the engine, then tighten, but U can't find torque amount any where.
  14. The hood was converted to tilt forward. The guy wasn't supper friendly or I would have asked to see the engine
  15. I saw this truck at the gas station. It has a cummins deisel. He said it us a 49 2.5 ton
  16. OneTonDirtyMopar. I had VPW rebuild my clutch. They did my clutch, water pump, and distributor. They are awesome to work with and very knowledgable
  17. Hi all: I converted my PowerPoint presentation on Dolly Dodge to video if you all want to have a look at it. I did the slide advance fairly quickly since there are so many slides. So sometimes it is hard to read the captions unless you pause the video. YouTube is still processing the video, but it should be up in an hour or so. http://youtu.be/H_QYQQxl9r8
  18. I have tried to do a nice job on details, wish I had the funds to do the body, but for now I at least got the mechanical stuff fixed, and the interior. I have been lubing all bolts as I put them in as saw on another poat someone recomended that. As far as the posts on break in. Marv, at the machine shop told me to warm it up, change rpms (not just idle), since it isn't drivable yet. He also had me use an additive high in zinc, which is to be changed at 1000 miles. It sounds amazing at all levels, no rattle or clanking anywhere:)
  19. Transmission and clutch in today, both work, yippie!
  20. Here is a link to the engine running after it had warmed up. The first video during the first start it was about 32 degrees outside so I had it running with throttle and choke while it warmed up. this video is after it warmed up, and I adjusted the idle and idle mix. It really does sound good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baYk60Ca4hs&feature=youtu.be
  21. Great balls of fire.....it RUNS!!!! Dolly Dodge fired and ran on the first start attempt. I had a few leaks around the waterpump(whivch I installed) but those are now resolved. Very exciting, I will post a video tomorrow. I can't believe it.
  22. Here is the pressure pot for the pre lube. Kind of cool. Distributor arrived this week from VPW, what a gorgeous rebuild!. Plan is to spend Monday getting DD running.
  23. Jeff, I think I will do both, your system and the prelube.
