  1. Finally figured out my PC problem and I can access the new P15-D24 forum. I was only able to access it from my phone. Not the easiest. So here are a few pics of the '41 The '61 Buick Skylark Gasser So, I'm excited to get started on the '41. It will be a period perfect, mid '40s custom. Slightly raised, black walls, full 16" Lyons hubcaps, skirts, hopped up flat 6. I am ready. BloodyKnuckles
  2. It's sad to see the '34 go but let me reassure all of you that it is going to good hands. It will be all Plymouth when it's finished and I promise you that it will have many miles put on it. I'm excited to be part of the modification process. He'll truly enjoy the car. I'm very pleased on my end also. BloodyKnuckles
  3. Rat? Damn you Don!! Yes, I still have the International. Love that damn truck.... Absolutely. I am 100% flathead. As you should know.Looking forward to this. Pics soon. BloodyKnuckles
  4. Over the winter I sold my '51 Cambridge. Since then nothing felt right. I was able to finish a 4 year project 1961 Buick Skylark 60's style drag car. It still didn't fill the void. I enjoyed the '54 DeSoto but again not satisfied. So, I ended up trading our '34 Plymouth Sedan for my dream car, a 1941 Plymouth Business Coupe. Now I'm a happy man. It's good to be back. I will try to post pics soon. BloodyKnuckles
  5. What I have done was installed an electrical fuel pump at the tank and vintage pressure regulator before the carb. I am running through the mechanical pump. So far so good. I had the fuse for the pump blow and sure enough the problem came back. I really think the isssue is a worn cam lobe. Thanks for the help guys. BloodyKnuckles
  6. Just to keep you guys up to speed I do have a phenolic spacer under the carb. I have relocated the fuel line from the intake. I really thought of building a shield of some kind for the fuel line. I have also tried a heat sleeve over the line. I picked up a very good electrical fuel pump that I need to try. I'm going to install it now. We'll try that for now. Thanks guys. BloodyKnuckles
  7. Sooooooo.....I've been struggling with a fuel delivery issue for years with my wife's '54 DeSoto flat 6 251. It has another new mechanical fuel pump (..5th one), rebuilt 1 barrel Carter Ball&Ball (..rebuilt 3 times), all new 5/16 steel line from the tank forward, super clean tank and a heat shield on the fuel pump. Here is the symptom. During the warm months it will run fine while driving but if it sits idling or is shut off and sits it will not run. It will have to cool almost completely before it will start and run. I have worked the accelerator pump during this time and no squirt. I have pulled the top carb horn and found the bowl to be dry. I have pulled the line from the pump to the carb and it is dry but the fuel bowl is full. The fuel lines are as far from a heat source as possible yet they are very hot. I am getting gas to the pump but for some reason, when hot, it won't make it to the carb. None of this problem is evident in the cooler months. I would rather run a mechanical fuel pump but would it be best to run a really good electric pump? Now, for a side note, my '51 Plymouth has a flat 6 with a mechanical fuel pump and 3 carbs and for 7 years never this issue. Any input would be very much appreciated. BloodyKnuckles
  8. Tu-tone for sure. Fenders black and body like a dove gray. We'll see. Thanks again guys. BloodyKnuckles
  9. One more pic. This is from Heather's 40th birthday party. She has her princess party hat on. BloodyKnuckles
  10. Still haven't figured out the DeSoto yet. I do have a suspicious hose that I will replace. It's the only hose I didn't change recently. Hope to see you soon. Thanks alot guys for the nice words. Heather is having a blast with this thing. She really enjoys driving it and talking about what she would like to do with it. She wants to change the body color and redo the interior and that's about it. Thanks again. She appreciates the kind words. BloodyKnuckles
  11. Well, maybe she didn't learn how to drive but she did learn how to drive a manual transmission in her '34 Plymouth. She has been driving around with me since she got it but this pretty much her first time by herself. She has been doing awesome. She loves her car. A few pics of her driving to an all Mopar event today in the rain; Just thought I would share our enthusiasm. BloodyKnuckles
  12. Awesome! Absolutely awesome!! BloodyKnuckles
  13. I found this drawing on a patent site; Rusty, you are correct. That's exactly the info I found. BloodyKnuckles
  14. I'll have to agree. I have been very pleased with my stock brakes. I have driven many other vintage cars and none of them can hold a candle to Mopar brakes. They are not discs but they perform very well. I completely rebuilt both my '51 and Heather's '54 DeSoto. My Plymouth I did 36,000 miles ago and have only adjusted them once. My friends are very impressed with their performance. Glad you had the assistance Dodgeb4ya. Good pointers and help goes a long way. Have fun! BloodyKnuckles
  15. I found this last week and couldn't pass it up. Just curious if anyone has seen these before. BloodyKnuckles
  16. Thank you very much for the offer. I'm hoping that the rebuilder will have it tomorrow. I may get up with you though. We'll see. Thanks, BloodyKnuckles
  17. Thanks Jim. Yesterday the generator failed. It was working fine earlier in the day and at night it stopped charging. I was able to make it home but the lights were dim to say the least. I pulled it today and dropped it off at our local gennie guy. I hope he'll have it squared away by tomorrow. We'll see. Also, I removed the seats and carpet and have found no signs of any rust repair. It has never had rust that I can find yet. What a good car so far. Very happy. BloodyKnuckles
  18. That is some interesting information. Would you happen to know the previous owner's name? I am surprised that only 10 sedans were listed. Thanks. I was only able to go Thursday. This weekend we had Heather's family in from out of town and celebrated her birthday all weekend. I hate that I missed you. I'll see you in the spring. The only changes that are planned is replacing the wires wheels with 16" Dodge Pilothouse wheels and new blackwall bias ply tires, 750 rear and 600 fronts. I will also repaint the engine and dress it up a bit. The interior will be redone similar to the original. I have found new bulbs and gaskets for the headlamps. We have been driving it alot. We have put on about 350 miles already. BloodyKnuckles
  19. Since April of 2005 36,000+ miles and still putting them on my '51. BloodyKnuckles
  20. Thanks Don. I'll look into it. BloodyKnuckles
  21. It has a straight front axle. Also the engine has PF stamped before the numbers. The numbers on the body and the title match the engine numbers but the letters are PG on the title before the numbers. The rear bumper brackets have PG stamped in them also. Also, I would have no problem with you using a few pics on your website. I can share more if you need them. I have enjoyed the info on your site. Thanks. BloodyKnuckles
  22. Thanks again. What I did as a temporary replacement for the filter is I installed a stainless braided line to connect the two oil lines. It seems to be ok for now. I am having a hard time finding one of those OE style disposable metal filters to replace the split one. Also, how do I fix the pressure valve? Don C, I have not fixed the DeSoto as of yet. My plans are to replace all the hard lines and rubber lines from the tank to the carb. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again guys. BloodyKnuckles
  23. Thanks again guys. Heather appreciates the nice words. IWe had our first failure today. After changing the oil but not the disposable canister filter I started the car and with the pressure of the new oil the canister burst at the seam. I have never seen this and it surprised me. I was planning on putting on a different type of oil filter but just not yet. I bypassed the filter for now and have the new one ready to go in. I just need new fittings. Heather and I gave the Plymouth a bath today and cleaned up the interior. It cleaned up well. BloodyKnuckles
  24. From my experience the forward clutchs and plates probably need replaced. Check with a company called Fatsco. They may have the proper rebuild kit. If you have a close friend who you trust to help you rebuild it I would think that it should be rather simple. Good luck. BloodyKnuckles
