  1. That's funny! A friend and I raced our cars. My 218 and his 250 chevy. It had to have been the loudest and slowest race ever. It was a riot. We raced stoplight to stoplight. Believe it or not we were evenly matched. On the highway I'll blow him away...OD all the way! He is putting in an OD as we speak so we'll have to see who's faster when he's all wrapped up. Good luck. I know you'll beat him! BloodyKnuckles
  2. I would be interested in seeing them. Do you have any pics? If you do could you send them to hawkconstruction@yahoo.com ? Thank you, BloodyKnuckles
  3. I run my car hoodless and it gets caught in the rain alot. The spark plug bowls get filled and as they dry the rust up. I like a clean looking bay so I used some copper and made some covers. Works really well. BloodyKnuckles
  4. No I don't but have concidered it. I drive it through the winters here and haven't had any issues with it. I may hook into the water pump and wrap the runners to see if it makes a difference. BloodyKnuckles
  5. I have 2 sets of side plates from a company called "Vintage Speed". What I did was paint them copper and buff off the top edges. I woud be interested in a set with Plymouth script. One thing I would take into concideration is a sealing method. I sealed mine with gasket goo. It seals fine but if I could make thes I would cut a groove on the backside around the entire dege and recess a rubber gasket similar to a large "O" ring. Keep us up to date if you plan on making these. BloodyKnuckles
  6. Actually, it has a loud brap and crackle to it. The pipes going to the lakes are 1 7/8". The cut-outs I used were NOS from the late fifties called "Hurricanes". The only complaint I have is that they leak. I may pull them back apart and add material to the flap so that it seals better. BloodyKnuckles
  7. I would be more than happy to assist anyone. I would like to be added to the list. Let me know how. BloodyKnuckles
  8. Thanks for the compliments fellas! I believe we went through 60 feet of tubing. Sounds great through the Smithy's but I also enjoy the sound through the open lakes. I have 2 levers right under the seat for easy open and close. We did my wifes '54 DeSoto that came from the exhaust manifold single then did long angle cuts on 2 pieces of tubing. We then welded them together to make duals. Ran through 2 turbo style mufflers and exited at the points of the rear bumper. The six sounds real healthy and has a pleasant sound inside the car, not obnoxious. I'll try to get a pic or two of hers. BloodyKnuckles
  9. I've got the best of both worlds. Muffed and loud!! BloodyKnuckles
  10. Yes and No. The blue one is my wife's and it's a '54 DeSoto Powermaster. Thanks for the compliment. BloodyKnuckles
  11. 10 minutes from my house, I'll be there. I can't wait to meet up you guys. BloodyKnuckles BTW...You probably know me as RonS or by my cars...
