  3. if i had to do a wuick estiamte i can honestly say im into it for around 60k mark. bought the car for 7750.00 labor of the resto shop was around 40k parts about 20k professional services interior, chrome polishing stainless 12k other misc parts 5k i could be off this is justa wuick draft, if i could do it all over again i would never it wasnt a fun restoration, its like pulling teeth. ill never do a resto again, i will buy them done only, live and learn type of deal. i never knew why thre were so many projects up for sale all the time for killer prices, its b.c. a resto is very hard to complete in all aspects, after a whilei hated paying the resto guys everyweek, it was like child support and i have no children!

  13. since i wanted a show car with show gaps, my paint job was roughly 20k. it took roughly 1 body man about 1 month of working on it everyday 8 hours a day. they also cut the trunk and made the overhang perfectly even. The doors also got cut and the cowl was made shorter so the doors fit better, and had 3/8 inch show gaps. The car was also skim coated in bondo so it appeared straight as an arrow and was blocked many times, and body filled the whole car, there is a ton of material on my car which im not happy about, b.c. of shrinking, but they waited a month for shrinkage to take place then they painted the car. looks good to me, but not woth 20k, i got carried away.
  14. Ive got 1 nos one if you need.
  15. i dont know how the number 400 number came up, take the car to some repair shops and get some quotes, its that easy. or attempt it yourself if you feel you have hte skill, im of te type to pay and have it done by a professional. where i live in metro ny, the price of everything is outrageous you mihgt be better off to just keep throwing oil in, remember its just a old car.
  16. i wish that caar was for sale so i could buy it, love the cad grill.

  20. from what i was told the transmission did have grease in it as the resto shop added it to the trans before it was installed b.c. there was a little add oil tag on it. i beleive it was standard gear/ trans oil, but not 100% sure. the rebuilder told me that, almost every gear in it looked like it had tons of mileage on them, making me think they were just used gears that were in there and needede replacing. they also stated that some of the gears had missing teeth, i can attest to this as i saw some of the gears they looked almost teethles. the thrid thing was the input shaftaccording to them was really worn out, so after all this it needed a rebuild. im happy its done that is all i can say.
  21. that is correct, and i paid a professional to rebuild it for me
