My sockets are dual filament to, my truck isa 55/56, is 12 volts too. Here are the pics, hey you Southern Guys, went fora ride too, installed new tie rod ends, much tighter steering now. It was below 0f when I took this ride, very toasty inside. PS truck stays in heated building, was 40f in the building where I did the tie rod job, still need an alignment... PSS winter is on now...............LOL -
Today my Great Wife drove 80 miles to Pembina ND to pick-up parcels, included were items for Me. I ordered from Rock Auto, 2 tie rod ends for the 55 Fargo, they are Moog and made in the USA, hope they are, and hope they fit. I also got park light lenses from Roberts, super nice glass repops, fit great and look nice too....... will install tie rod ends in the morning.....

Hey all, picked up my Roberts parcel today at Pembina ND, parts of the order was new lenses for my park lights. Much to my surprise, very nice fitting glass replacements, 22 buck$ each. very nice repro. Ordered the round side mirrors, there okay, seem lighter duty than my old originals. I also ordered some Moog tie rod ends from Rock Auto for the 55 Fargo, again to my surprise, made in the USA, hope they fit, will install tomorrow...

Hey Greg, gotta get out my 41 YO John Deere snowblower too. Needs an oil change, and maybe time fora sparkplug too. She got used a lot late winter and early spring up here....

Hey Good Buddy, glad you aren't have real bad weather yet. Yah the truck is okay, gonna paint the box in spring, finish all mechanical, and then do up the interior. Maybe just, maybe, will look for some better donor body parts, like rear fenders, front nose section etc, and take her apart and redo it to perfection, when I retire, but cannot guarantee that......LOL Hey Merle, worst part of that slushy snow/sleet/frozen rain, is the roads are so dangerous, anyone from the south who has never experienced that has no idea, how nerve racking that can be. Hey can the Packers play in the cold................LOL

Hi Rich, yes I did, and it appears to be the correct tie rod end. That is Moog part# , so I ordered them today.....if there not right, will send em back..

You Guys remember that massive thread I started about "Winter In Manitoba", about 6 years ago, it was in November, after a snow storm. It just snowballed from there, no pun intended. We have had a few dustings of snow, 52 the other day, last week some temps down to 0 with a -10 windchill over 1 night, snowing yesterday, today about 48-50, windy but pleasant. Had the truck out, actually took it out the other night fora gasoline and coffee run from Canada's infamous Tim Hortons. A couple of pics, and yes she is Moon equipped...enjoy, add your updates about your local weather, and those who don't like the idea, can abstain.

Thanx Rich, Rock Auto is confusing, they list these Moog number for 1960 D100 ES158 Lor R, plus the Raybestos numbers I posted above. For 1955 Dodge trucks they only list the Raybestos numbers, and not the moog numbers. I cancelled my order, thinking the parts are wrong. Going to order the part numbers you have posted today.....thanx fred

The economy grade was probably fine, but no doubt would wear faster, and be of a lower quality. Both are Raybestos, but made where????I am watching "Death By China" as I type this. I have become a cheap sucker over the years, mitigating circumstances have been the driving factor....take care
-
Thanx Dave, went ahead and ordered the better grade part, hope it fits.....
-
Anybody ever use the rock auto Raybestos economy grade tie rod ends. Roberts and Bernbaums are out of stock for my 55 pickup, and may have to order these from Rock Auto.. They have the economy standard 16.79, or pro grade 37.00, like the economy price, but are they any good.....thanx aka Rockwood

Like your's better Chris. nice car, but looks overdressed with BC/CC paint and radial tires. guess I am getting partial to bias ply tires.............LOL -
Beautiful, glad you decided to check out under the cap. I think Fernando mentioned the Condensor.............

Put it in reverse on forward incline, and 1st gear on rearward incline, and forget about it. Compression test, not a bad idea, at least it will tell you where your at now, with this engine.. If all is running well, and you can remember to use the ebrake, any reason to really worry. I have a 3 speed Mopar trans if you need 1 Bob, even has the back-up light switch built into it, at least I think thats what that is.....

yup, she is coming along. but the visitors can attest she is bit rough, but a neat little machine. i really did start off with a real nightmare. i hope to have it all painted by spring.

Hey all, was a real pleasure to have 1 of the Members Bamfordgarage stop by today. Chris and His Wife are in the area to attend a wedding, so was able to meet with Chris today, for an enjoyable few hours, and to talk Old Mopar, and to get a 1st hand view of Chris and Jerry's adventures in the 47 D25. Just before Chris arrived, Forum Member RickD1973 and Paul H, both Vintage Mopar Owners arrived to pick up a C38S 251 engine. Rick and I picked up this engine, and loaded it on His Trailer, had the Wheaties for breakfast today. Pulled out the Fargo, Paul drove the truck, and then I drove it with Chris, for a short ride in the area, was very happy to give both a ride, and to get there opinion on how the truck is running and handling. We all, at Paul's request ventured into the Kitchen for Coffee, Homemade cake, courtesy of Mrs Bamford, and enjouyed a fantastic slide show of The 1947 D25 adventures. I had previously seen some of the pictures already, but it was sure a lot more interesting, with Chris's narration of the excursions. Chris and Jerry, very brave and adventurous types, real old car role models for sure. It was a great afternoon, and do hope to be able to meet with more of you Guys in the future.

Frank, I pondered this last night on the way to work. The ISOs are lethal, but with protection and taking safety precautions, all should be well. There are those ultra sensitive to this and any solvent fumes. So many guys mix paint, add hardener, do not wear a respirator, while they are not spraying, not a good idea. The result is you feel sick, and like a bad hangover. I know right away, if I get an effect, I get clumsy, if I am taking in fumes. But when I am using ISOs, I wear the protection, dress head to toe, have as much ventilation as possible, and don ot do it often. Your buddy, was ISO poisoning, like a bad asthma symptoms, or solvent poison and withdrawal.....

Bob, you know these brands I see. Must be the growing up along the Quebec border, Molson 50, or the rest of Canada Molson's Canadian Lager. there are many, many brands of beer sold here today, the US beers are made here under contract, and usally a little stronger than your beer. Glad you like the paint, somebody has to......LOL The weather has been great here, muggy and 70s...

This morning 60 hours since the paint was sprayed on. I got a little peel in it, as I had trouble with the 2nd coat, it was warm, and paint on 2nd coat was not flowing out as well as it should. No runs whatsoever, which is hard to not get when shooting enamel. I did the finger nail test on a number of sections, very hard already, hardener makes a huge difference, other items i painted days before without hardener, are way softer...

yah right Frank the best i can do is brand new P 100/OV cartridges, lots of air moving and doors up if needed. Not the bestg but done everyday across north america in body shops, me doing it a few times a decade is not so bad, but you have to be very careful. I almost did not add this stuff, but straight enamel is a pain without a catalyst hardener....I agree with you Frank, but do not have a fresh air set-up, can't even afford a decent spraygun right now, but will before I ever shoot another topcoat...
-
Glad you liked it. It is not perfect by no means, some dry spray and peel, had a lot of trouble on the 2nd coat. I have to paint the box yet, so when I do, will give cab a light sanding and do some body work on the back end of it, and spraya nice coat on her again. But for now the cab is nice and shiny, clarity is not thee, but will fix that up later, I could compound and polish it too. But for now, it needs to cure and dry up good, even though I used hardener, it needs to sit for a while now...

Hey all, spent about a week doing a fast prep on this ole girl, left some character on just for the helluva it, and to add to the charm. This truck is used on a rough gravel road and to do light hauling at time. I hope to someday get some better dnor parts and take things apart fora proper job. the paint, is Home Hardware Rust Coat enamel, this is a custom color I had made at local Home Hardware. Here is the mix, approximately 8 parts paint, 4 parts dupli-color medium speed reducer, 1 part Evercoat DOI wet look acrylic enamel hardener. 1st coat went on thin and sup wicked shiny, next coat, it started out dry spray, had to add a ton of reducer and make her wet. this helped a lot but not 100 %. no runs, it was 76 inn the garage, and hotter outside. it came off pretty good. i laid on a fair amount of paint, so cut and polish could do wonders but what for.... gotta pull running boards and rear fenders for blasting, then fix and paint, will paint box later this winter..
