amaterasu71 Posted September 13, 2018 Report Share Posted September 13, 2018 I have a 58 dodge 230 flat six that has the harmonic balancer and the rubber is shot. The pulleys dont seem to line up to the water pump. Wondering if i can just use a pulley with out the rubber ? any ideas on why the pulleys dont line up? Plymouthy Adams Posted September 13, 2018 Report Share Posted September 13, 2018 anything could happen over the years and parts get changed...but as far as lining up...may be the shifting of the pulley on the balancer for sure and if it is far forward of the water pump pulley in alignment...you may be on borrowed time before it lets lose and flies into a radiator...or fan blade.....
