since i have found myself behind a parts store counter again, i'm lucky to be able to look up parts for my own projects in my spare time at work. was surprised to find cap, rotor, point set, condenser, wire set, coil, voltage regulator, temp sender and brake light switch all still available and in our local warehouse; already have a new master cylinder; and all the wheel cylinders, shoes, and brake hoses in the warehouse. molded radiator hoses are still listed; the only parts i haven't located so far are the generator and starter, and clutch disc and plate. we even had DJ Jeep brake shoes and drums on the shelf when a customer called yesterday!

Do they have any front or rear motor mounts for the 46-48 Plymouths?

Sounds kind of like O'Reilly.....around here you can still get certain things

for the ol car from them.

If you have the time it might be beneficial to most to post numbers for the commonly replaced parts, shocks, fuel pump, water pump, brake parts, tune up pieces, itc, so that the modern numbers might form a data base for number cross reference.

since i'm mostly (selfishly!) doing stuff for my '52 my list so far is for her only, but by and large a lot of stuff covers several years. i am compiling it trying to catch all the esoteric stuff. Anchor lists a tranny mount but sadly no motor mounts. i did get a pair of correct latched wiper blades, Anco 20-12, but they are still not the one piece OEM design. once i have a pretty good list i'll format it and post it.

we have Oreillys, NAPA, Autozone, Advance, PepBoys and Auto Supply as copmpetitors in the area, but we're known for having dyed in the wool car guys behind the counters, even the youngsters. we try to cultivate long customer relationships instead of depending on accessory sales for profits. you want tweety bird floor mats? Wal Mart. you want a water pump or fuel pump for your P23? got it at the warehouse, have it here in an hour.
