woodscavenger Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Check out this website. I think I need to work a little faster on my truck. http://www.classicsandcustoms.com/search/Dodge_Pick_Up_19294.asp Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Hummmmm....25K + 5K repaint. Would have looked better like this. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I don't like that paint scheme either. Either our trucks are getting more valuable, or these people are crazy. Merle Quote
beyert99 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Merl What do you think about the paint job of the one Reg posted, for a 48 B-1-C Quote
Merle Coggins Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 The paint scheme on the "Spring Specials" is nice, although I've only seen black & white photos. There's just something about the red on white combo used in that truck that I don't like. But again opinions are like @$$holes... everyone's got one. Quote
beyert99 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 The red & white look doesn't do much for me either. I was really thinking about having mine painted the 2 tone of that spring special, but am also thinking I should just stay original. The wife really wants the 2 tone ( dark green and sort of gold) go Green Bay!!! I don't know what to do?? Quote
Vintrader Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I know lot's of members have seen this truck before. But I thought I would post it again for those that are new to the forum. I bought this truck 2 years ago from Harrold Shell in Arizona and sold it to Cindee and Chuck Berry. I think they took it to Montana. I thought the two tone looked great on it. Dutch Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Here are a couple of 2 tone trucks that look much nicer than the red and white one. I've been thinking of changing Ole Yeller to a black and armour yellow two tone and renaming him Yellow Jacket for my second childhood. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 beyert99, I like the Green & Gold idea. (GO PACKERS!!) It would be a hit around here, but be carefull if you take it down across the border. Dutch, That's a beautiful truck. I've thought that from the first picture that you posted of it. Quote
Guest Scruffy49 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I like the turquoise and white one a lot better than the red and white in that classified ad. I've been toying with the idea of two toning mine, cobalt blue metallic pearl and graphite metallic pearl. But I'll probably stick with a solid dark blue like she's been as long as I can remember. Not fond of the stock two toning, black box, rear fenders and boards look. Makes the truck look unfinished and unbalanced. -Scruffy49 Quote
dmulhall Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 that is the santa clause truck.. I remember that one from awhile back Quote
Mario Loya B1B Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 ...Not fond of the stock two toning, black box, rear fenders and boards look. Makes the truck look unfinished and unbalanced.-Scruffy49 I'm fond of her. Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 I wonder how the "Spring Special" treatment would look with the black on the fenders and doors. Wish I knew how to use photo shop so I could see how my truck would look. I like the layout of the turquoise truck above better than the original spring special layout. Quote
Vintrader Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Here ya go Reg. Not the best, but it will give you a idea of what it would look like. Let me know if you would like to see the top of the cab Black as well. Dutch Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Now that is really really cool Dutch !!!! Thanks !!!! Can you arch the black paint around the gas tank filler area in a semi circle kinda like the tirquoise truck above and maybe the very top of the cab at the seam above the back window. Quote
woodscavenger Posted May 27, 2008 Author Report Posted May 27, 2008 I like the arched paint scheme. Gives me some ideas......too bad currently mine would be rust and primer! Quote
