p15estep Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 I have a friend that has a real nice 47 Dodge 4dr. and this past summer a bad wind storm came thru and a large tree limb crushed the frontdriver's side of the roof in. i found a 47 Plymouth 4dr. parts car. will the roof off the plymouth fit the dodge. thanks for the help Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 If this may help you, I know for certain that the D24 roof headliner bows are wider than that of a Plymouth P15 and therefore would believe they are different..the Dodge is just a tad larger than the Plymouth in most respect... BobT-47P15 Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 I wonder could they just cut out the damaged area and maybe the P15 partial roof piece might work. Quote
thedahmer Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Roof lines are TOTALLY different, different angles on the A post different curvature on the l-r sides--- be better off patching in - or a hydrolic ram and pushing it back into place--plenty of good steel to work with-- Quote
48mirage Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Looking at my parts book the roof panel for the P15 is the same for the same 2 dr/4 dr Plymouths for the years of '42 thru '48. Part Number 988 239. I also see this as the same part number for a 40 Dodge. These are the roof panels with the drain troughs. Jim Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 I think maybe the trunk handles are the same on P15-D24. The bumper bolts are even different. Quote
bob westphal Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 There a few parts that MoPar used on all their lines in the 40s. The trunk handle is one of them. I'm using a '48 Chrysler handle on my P-15. Bolts right on! Quote
