Kustom52Mopar Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 While searching for stuff for my '52 at napaonline I found a pressure plate. Here is the link to the page: http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&FromWhere=SC&LineCode=NCL&PartNumber=CA1675&Description=Clutch%20Cover%20Assy%20-%20Remfd But its only $45 and no core charge. What makes me wonder is that everywere else is more like $100 with a core. I just have a feeling something is amiss about this. Any thoughts or ideas behind this or did I find one heck of a good buy? Norm's Coupe Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Don't know about that one you linked to. However, if you need clutch parts you can go direct to Ft. Wayne Clutch, Ft. Wayne, Indiana and buy the whole clutch for somewhere between $100 to $120, with exchange of old core. They do have a web site. Quote
Kustom52Mopar Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 Here's a diff link that shows the application: http://www.napaonline.com/NOLPPSE/(S(1ek5beb32ml0mqqhszin3cay))/Detail.aspx?A=NCLCA1675_0058598457&An=599001+101952+50056+65769+28061 Quote
JerseyHarold Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 FWIW, Plymouth had Borg&Beck clutches up to '51, and used Auburn clutches in the '52's. The '51's were the last year for the over-center spring on the pedal linkage. Just another bit of P23 trivia cluttering my brain..... Harold Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Those pictures are just a picture of any common clutch cover. Looks to me like a 50`s through 80`s GM RWD clutch cover. Doesn`t mean that Napa doesn`t have the correct cover though. Go to the local Napa and have them look it up in their picture book. Or just take the easy route and go to FT. Wayne clutch. Bob Quote
Kustom52Mopar Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 I'll have to look in to the FT. Wayne. But I just need the pressure plate though cause I'm doin the T-5 swap and the kit came with a clutch disc. Quote

Believe they do have an 800 number on their site. If not, I'm sure they could rebuild your old one if you have it. Quote
Don Coatney Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 I used these folks and had very good results. They rebuilt my pressure plate in a couple hours and sold me a disk splined for a T-5 for less than a hundred for both pieces. Quote
james curl Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Kuston52MoPar, did you buy the KVC Products kit from Paul Curtis? If so how does it look? Does it look like it will be an easy installation? Quote
Kustom52Mopar Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 ya I bought the kit from Paul, it looks like it'll be fairly simple. I'll do my best to document it and post all the pics I can on here if it'll help anybody out. Quote
Kustom52Mopar Posted March 20, 2008 Author Report Posted March 20, 2008 Well a little update/question info here. I went ahead and bought that pressure plate through NAPA and it does look just like the picture. It sure is a diaphram stlye BUT its for 10" clutchs and the factory is 9". It does bolt to the flywheel but I'm not sure if my clutch will work. There is about 3/8" the metal surface and the Press plate hangs over but the clutch material itself hangs over on the inside maybe 1/8". Wondering if its too much?? I wanna say it'll be alright seeing as its a small amount and the 10" pressure plate will have more pressure over the 9". Quote
Normspeed Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Probably work just fine. I went with a 10" plate and disk because I tow a small trailer. You can get the 10" disks on ebay from time to time. 10" was listed as the heavy duty/police/taxi setup for some years. Quote
Don Coatney Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 You should be able to buy a 10" clutch disc. Quote
