Reg Evans Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Ignorance was bliss. Now I know I'm missing the spacer and extension pin for mine. What's the purpose of those two parts? Quote
1948Skip Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Jerry, If I may be so nosey, can I ask what you paid for the gage. I have been looking for one of these and so far no luck. So if anybody knows of another 1750 gage for sale I would appreaciate a heads up on it. Skip Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 I've tried to block out the memory cause I paid over $300 for mine. Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted March 2, 2008 Author Report Posted March 2, 2008 Skip , I paid $10 . I found it yesterday at the local flea market and it was complete with the exception of the instructions . The seller said that he wanted $10 so I didn't dicker . Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted March 2, 2008 Author Report Posted March 2, 2008 Reg , The extension pin is used for Ford and Mercury rear shoes only , it goes on the dial pin . And the spacer ... the instructions say a spacer is provided to speed the operation of placing the gage on the spindle , I don't know just how it fits yet , perhaps over the end of the spindle . Reg Evans Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Thanks Jerry. Man, did you luck out. Here's one on eBay now and it's missing a vital part. #140209627188 Quote
1940Mopar Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Ignorance was bliss. Now I know I'm missing the spacer and extension pin for mine. What's the purpose of those two parts? Looks like my gut feeeling was right. The tool didn't look complete if this was the same one on Ebay. I didn't want to ruin it for anyone who might have been bidding though. i wonder if the missing parts easily substituted Quote
1948Skip Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 To Jerry and Shel, Jerry, you are one lucky son-of-a gun. Shel, Thanks for the heads up on the gage. I will check it out Skip Quote
1948Skip Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Guys, I was just on e-Bay and found two gages for sale. One guy wants $199.99 plus $10.00 shipping and not all the parts are there. I don't know about some people. Skip Quote
