Dodgeb4ya Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Anyone know of a reliable person or company that repairs or recone`s speakers? I need to get a couple of 802 radio speakers for my Chyslers done. Bob Quote
Ed Griffin Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Antique Automobile Radio, Inc. 700 Tampa Rd. Palm Harbor, FL. 34683 # 800-933-4926 I think that this is the company that Rodney mentioned who did speaker recone's. You can either ask Rodney or call the toll free number to make sure. By the way Bob, your package arrive yet? Quote
50 Deluxe Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 You don't say how bad the cones are, but an old trick we used on cracked cone paper was to paint nail polish across the cracks. Can't say it improved the sound much, but it did work. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 We used balsa wood model airplane cement. It worked pretty good and was cheap. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 If all else fails, find an Antique Radio Club on the net. They should be able to help you. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 I heard you could reinforce speaker repairs by adding a small piece of toilet paper to the glued area. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 Thanks guys- I`ll call the above Ph.#. The cones (2 speakers) are torn badly. ED, I got the distributor today! Thanks a million!!! Bob Quote
bob westphal Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Bob, If you're near Seattle, there is a guy in Startup that repairs my old radios. He sends the speakers to somewhere in California. He's done several speakers for me. The last one for an 802 cost $35. His name is Dick Engel. 360-793-1598. Give him a call Quote
