hope somebody saved that; too cool to let fade away. odd to see a Dodge limo; would've pegged that for a DeSoto or Chrysler feature. shame the running gear is gone but i'm sure there's enough around to resupply her. body didn't look too far gone in spite of the sea of mud around her.

I did a Google search and found this page, which states that only two 1948 Dodge limos were made.

I never would have guessed that they would be that rare.

Here's another quircky addition to what Mopar offered like those black knobs Tim. Parts book lists some parts but underneath quotes not for 7 passenger Sedan and Limo. . for obvious reasons but makes you consider that there was a 7 passenger sedan and a Limo. . Most likely just more perks on the Limo. Brochure doesnt show a limo or even list it but it does show the 7 passenger sedan. I've always assumed they were the same car and physically they are but apparently you could get either only listed differently under title.

I recall one funeral home in the town where I grew up having a longer

wheelbase Chrysler for a "family car". Don't know what ever became of

it.

This one is an 8-passenger sedan, not a limousine. The limousine has a partition between the front and rear compartments with a roll-down window divider.

Also, the rear doors have exterior door locks so the owner could lock the rear compartment and keep out the riff-raff. The chauffeur would have keys for the front doors which also fit the ignition.

I emailed the guy and he said $800-- will buy it-- if anyone is interested I would not mind to go and look at it--
