David A. Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Hi, I was wondering if anyone has the 4 chrome interior door escutcheons for a 50 Dodge B2B Pickup they would like to sell. I would also be interested in a pair of original window riser and door handles. I'm planning on sending out my chrome to get it replated next week, and would like to have those items to send along as well. My e-mail address is d.a.anderson1@juno.com. Thank You, David Anderson Quote
Bob_Koch Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 I would think it would be cheaper to buy new escutcheons. Andy Bernbaum sells them (www.oldmoparts.com) and also vintagepowerwagons (www.vintagepowerwagons.com) They run 10 - 12 bucks each. I'm not sure you can get yours rechromed for that. Quote
David A. Posted January 16, 2008 Author Report Posted January 16, 2008 Thank you for your reply. I ordered escutcheons and interior handles from Roberts several weeks ago. Roberts says the handles are smaller than what was originally in my truck. The escutcheons he sent will not work on the 48-50 pickups. They are just flat ribbed discs. From pictures I have seen, the ones I need have a spring built in to them that keeps them pressed out against the handles. The ones Bernbaum sells appear to be the same as Robert's from the picture in their catalogue. I will check with Vintage Power Wagons and see what they have. Thank you again for the information. Young Ed Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 The springs are seperate. Those escutcheons sound right to me. Oh they should have little barbs to bite into the door panel material. Quote
Bob_Koch Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 I got mine from Vintage Power Wagons. They have the springs integrated inside, which is what my originals were. The outside portion (closest to the door/window handle) is a bit smaller diameter. I'll see if I can post a side by side comparison picture with my original when I get home late tonight. Quote
David A. Posted January 16, 2008 Author Report Posted January 16, 2008 Thank you to the individuals that responded to my question. I called Vintage Power Wagons today and ordered the Escutcheons from them. I don't have any originals to compare theirs to, but hopefully they are pretty close to the originals. Thank you again!
