I was using my sandblaster yesterday and of course it stopped working due to moisture. My water seperator broke a few months age so I bypassed it for now. I know I need to go get a new one. When I drained my tank I noticed the water comes out yellow and slimy like there is oil getting into the tank. It's been this way for as far back as I can remember. Is this normal? My compressor is a craftsman about 20 years old with normal to light use.

yes it is normal..the air compressor is just like an engine..piston, rings, head, rod(s) cranks etc..everything but ingnition..it is normal for ring blown by to get compressed and set to the tank in a mist form where it will blend with condensed water..and I do recommend you getting your seperator back online...you must have the same blaster I had..it blew out the seperator also..replaced it with a bit better style unit...you need this so no moist sand will be left in the sealed pressure tank promoting rust when not in use...

My blaster is a benchtop cabinet setup. I'm going to harbor freight on Friday to pick up a new filter. I thought maybe my compressor was worn out or something since the oil was getting in the tank. Thanks for the info.
