gmcalis Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 After 5 years I'm finally getting my rebuild engine installed. The rod that the butterfly attaches to and connects to the throttle is broken off at the external attachment (see pics). I cannot find any sort of replacement. Nor can I find a carburetor (Stromberg BXVD-3) to replace it. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on any options. Gabe Quote
Ivan_B Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 (edited) You can probably drill the rod, tap it, and get the butterfly attached with a machine screw 🤔 Or, you can just buy this for $20. Is this the right type? Edited April 30 by Ivan_B 1 Quote
Solution desoto1939 Posted April 30 Solution Report Posted April 30 I would purchase the spare carb for that price and then have a machine shop pull the old brass rod and then install a new rod and then have a spare throttle body. $20 is cheap for a carb and then youcan play with th eold carb and get some education on how it all works. Just my $20 worth of input. Rich hartung Desoto1939@aol.com 1 1 Quote
