Normspeed Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Ooooohhhhhhhhh..Never mind.... Heck I can't even keep one around for any length of time:confused: Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Tim, sounds like me at swap meets lately. Don't end up buying much, primarily because I really don't need anything. Just go for a guys day out mostly. Last one I went to in September all I bought was a neat Whirly Gig for the back yard (little guy keeps trying to crank the old car, but it never starts , and a bundle of shop rags. Bought a couple other small things but forgot what they were. Must have really needed those:rolleyes: . Quote
Normspeed Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 I don't find much early Mopar stuff at local swaps, even the big Pomona one. But sometimes I find odd junk that appeals to my oddball eclectic tastes. I end up buying a lot from the $1 pile and loving the treasures I scored. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Finally remembered one of the other things I picked up. A cheap set of small thin files to file points, etc. Somehow/sometime over the years the ones I had for years disappeared. Normspeed, so your one of those dollar box special guys. I usually don't bother with those because it takes too long to root through them. If something is sitting on top without rooting that's interesting, then I buy from that box. Got lucky with the dollar boxes a couple of times over the years. Picked up a nice 46 - 48 DeSoto Clock for $1, another time picked up a perfect 51 Ford Horn Ring and Button, and a perfect 49 Ford Horn Button. All for $1 each. Put them all on ebay and got about $100 for the three combined in return for my $3.00 investment. We have to drag one guy that goes with us from those boxes. Sometimes, we just tell him we're going on and he'll have to catch up. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Thanks for looking about the tire changer, Tim. Son in law bought an old Bishman electrically operated tire changer recently. Probably made in the 60s, or possibly the 70s. It needs a better "hook" on top that goes around and pulls the tire up and off the rim. Looks like this. Quote

With cellphones, it's easy to hook up later. Quote

So.........you'd have to keep up with us, or like we say. Drive your own vehicle and we'll meet you there. Or, we'll just say if we get split up, we'll meet you by the main building or gate at a certain time. Since we are always there by about 7 AM, we also set a time when we're leaving. That's usually around 1:30 or 2 PM. So........if ya spent too much time at the dollar boxes you wouldn't have time to see the whole swap meet. Quote
