Conn47D24
Here's an odd one. I replaced my regulator. I was suspicious that my AMP gauge was not showing chargeing at increased RPM's. Generator was just checked ot. AMP gauge now shows proper movment but.... Out of nowhere my fuel gauge goes slowly to full, then back down and up again. I know I have less than 1/2 tank, and this gauge was right on up till now. How are these events conected please ?
greg g
Look for an inadvertent ground on fuel gauge wires. Mine did similar stuff. The defroster tube fell of the diffuser. It was wire reinforced paper. If the wire made contact with the gauge terminals it would peg the gauge at full. Three or four years ago it quit all together. I acquired another sender from the World Famous Mopar parts peddler on long Island. It was junk from the get go. Now once in ten starts or so. It will raise up to half full, wave at me a couple times, then drop to a quarter tank regardless of level of fuel in the tank. Otherwise it goes up to quarter tank and stays there. I just leave it be these days as my original rubber trunk mat is getting brittle, I don't want to fold it to access any more.
