Young Ed Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Anyone ever ordered prints through photobucket? I want to order a few bigger prints of the nice pictures of the truck and car. Quote
PatS.... Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Not Photobucket, but I did use Snapfish once. For you it would be great, but when it has to cross the "Free Trade" border, it takes all the fun out of it. Now, I use a local outfit called Blacks. They have an online album service similar to Photobucket and I can order prints and pick them up same day just a few blocks away for 19 cents each. Heck of a deal. Likely a similar service local to you. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 14, 2007 Author Report Posted November 14, 2007 Well I figured I'd try it. Hopefully it will be ok. It was $16 for 7 4x6, 5 5x7, and 2 8x10s. Thats including the shipping to my door. Doesn't seem to bad as long as the quality is good. Quote
Phil Martin Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 I bought a pack of photograph paper for my printer and printed pictures from computer taht look like they were developed and enlarged. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Do you have a Sams Club near you? You can send pics to them for printing thru their website. I keep meaning to try it, but haven't done it yet. Walmart might offer the same service. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 14, 2007 Author Report Posted November 14, 2007 I do Bob. But working for Target I try to avoid them for the most part :0 Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 I reckon ya got a point there, Ed. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Ed, I agree with Phil. Why not just buy some photo paper from the office supply store and print the pictures directly off your computer. Does take a lot more ink to print them off, but should be cheaper than purchasing your own pictures back from Photobucket. I buy the office supply stores house brand, works and looks just as good as the name brand photo paper, and you get a lot more paper. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 I do Bob. But working for Target I try to avoid them for the most part :0 Well Ed, I don't work for Target and I still avoid Walmart. You can count the times the wife and I've been in a Walmart on one hand. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 I do print my own little ones as I want them. I ordered 5x7s and 8x10s this time. I think they will look better from a pro then what my printer can do. Norm nice to hear I'm not the only one who avoids walmart. I do occasionally go to walmart or sams but its rare and I certainly won't do it for things I can get elsewhere. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 When it comes to Sam's Club, I've never been in one of those. I have a real problem when a store tells me I have to pay just for the privilege of shopping in their store. Use to get phone calls and coupons in the mail for a free one day pass, never took advantage of those for the same reason. I don't care if their prices are supposed to be cheaper. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 I split a membership with one of my friends. I'm not sure I get my moneys worth at even $20 a year. I wouldn't even have it if we weren't splitting it. I don't know how much she uses it either. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Ed, never realized the membership fee was so high. $40 makes it even worse. I always thought it was around $20 for some reason. However, I really never got that far on the phone with them when they called, I'd just hang up. So, never knew the actual membership fee. I do have a friend that is a member and has ask if I want to go with him as a guest to shop, then he would just pay for my stuff. However, even that's against my crawl because you have to pay to be a member to buy. Some people swear by the place though. To each their own. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 I really just keep mine because my parents like to go with me and I like to eat their food Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 I really just keep mine because my parents like to go with me and I like to eat their food Well, in that case you really do save money by shopping there. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 20, 2007 Author Report Posted November 20, 2007 Pictures came today. Processing and shipping time seems quick and they look great. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 Glad to hear the pictures are good, Ed. We don't buy very much at Sam's - get their gas more than anything. Sometimes they are as much as a nickel a gallon less than other places, sometimes they are exactly the same. I do find it handy for the photo developing....a bit less busy sometimes in that dept than WalMart or Walgreens. The Mrs likes to go in and look around at stuff, especially TV sets. Sometimes we buy their bags of sirloin hamburgers for cookouts...they are pretty convenient and reasonably good. Most food items are in such large packages that it's too much for just two people. Sometimes buy clothing items. Really don't get any big savings in a year's time, but it's something else to do, somewhere to go. So as long as the cost isn't a problem, will probably continue to pay up. Quote
Johnny S Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 I've used the Walmart photo service and have sent digital photos directly to a local store. They were done in less than an hour and I just picked them up. I think I can do the same thing at Sam's Club here but haven't. I have also used Snapfish and Ofoto (Kodak's site) and both of them have been good. I do have a Sam's Club membership and find that its worth the $40/year for me. We buy a LOT there. Most everything is cheaper although you do have to pay attention. I have a nephew who is a shift manager at Target Corp in Cedar Falls/Waterloo (Iowa). I try to frequent Target as well. I'm an equal opportunity buyer. Quote
