uncleaud
I've been replacing the complete brake system on my 47. I've read and followed all the instructions given here and they have been extremely helpful. After working on the rear brakes today I think I have them adjusted correctly. Am I right in my thinking that the major adjustment bolts are used to move shoes up and down to center and the manor adjustment moves the shoes in and out to make and adjust contact between shoes and drum? 9 foot box
At the top of this page, under search, is a technical tab. Click that, then brakes. It will explain the procedure. Rick D.
MarcDeSoto
You are in luck because Chrysler made a filmstrip and booklet in 1948 that covers the brake shoe adjustment. https://mymopar.com/mtsc-1948-volume-1-9-if-the-shoe-fits/
uncleaud
Thanks for the reminder. I read and watched all that once but being the first time working with theLockheed system it was all greek to me. Now that I have had my head and hands into mine it all makes sense. I'm good to go...thanks for your patience.
