PatS.... Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I wonder what this began life as? A coupe? A LWB sedan? A four door? Check out the suicide rear door http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/lunchtime_outakes.htm Quote
JerseyHarold Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 My guess is it was originally a Dodge LWB sedan. May also have started life as a DeSoto or Chrysler and had Dodge sheetmetal put on. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 It appears to have about 1960 DeSoto tail lights/fins grafted on. Looks like a 1950 or 51 Dodge when it started. Looks like he cut the back edge and left the wing windows as part of the body, then made doors open at the front. That's going to a lot of trouble to produce a fairly ooogly car. Quote
greg g Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 51 or 2 Dodge Airport Limo, with some 60 Chrysler tailfins. Looks like it was widened. I think Blueskies is looking at it as a service vehicle to support his car and crew for the big race, as his Chevy truck won't hold all his stuff and kids. Quote
Guest rockabillybassman Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I'm with BobT, it's oogly...... customs are supposed to refine and improve on the original, many fall well short, even if the workmanship is good it does'nt necessarily make it a good custom! Quote
Olddaddy Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 This is yet another example of someone putting a tremendous amount of time, effort, and money into a car to end up with something less desireable, and less valuable than it was originally. Quote
Guest Dave Claussen Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 There ya' go, that's what a hobby is supposed to be, FUN. To each his own, as they say. Quote
