TodFitch Posted October 21, 2021 Report Posted October 21, 2021 Took a nice drive today and had the dash cam in the Plymouth. I thought maybe a video from the dash cam would be nice to share but my d*mn whistling ruins the whole ambience. Stripping the audio would also detract from the effect. So no video to share. Have to make a note to myself when driving the old car to keep quiet and let the engine, drive train, tires, etc. be the only sounds to record. I wasn’t the only one out. I saw as mid-1950s Chevy wagon, not sure if it was a Nomad or not. And a 1940s Buick convertible too. 2 1 Quote
Bryan Posted October 22, 2021 Report Posted October 22, 2021 Cut out the audio and replace it with some easy going music..seen that before, works well. Quote

Removing the sound and adding music can make things watchable. And I’ve done it, though mostly for my “idiots on the road” dash cam collection (up to nearly 20 minutes of video so far for 2021 and I’ve stopped bothering to save the run of the mill things like people running red lights, COVID-19 has apparently caused a huge decrease in driving ability in my area). But for the old car a lot of the character of the drive is based on feel, smell and sounds in addition to the visual. I can’t do much about feel and smell but having the sound is possible and adds a lot to the video. Quote
