Throw out bearing replacement

How do you remove the bearing from the carrier?  Can you buy a new carrier with the bearing already inserted?

The bearing is pressed on.  Usually not too tight and can be removed and installed with hand tools and/or a vise.

I put it in the vise and hitting the edge of the bearing and could not get it to move. I will try heat.

Clamp it in the vise so that the bearing is free to move.  Use a cold chisel, with the slowest taper you have, between the bearing and carrier.  It shouldn't take much to move it with the wedge action.  Really hard to do with a direct axial hit though.

That worked. It came right off.
