Someone posted awhile back about using some sort of aviation grade ducting and even the aluminum dryer vent hose for the fresh air intake.  After 100 miles, re-torque head, manifolds, etc, change oil, and drive it like ya stole it to really heat up them rings...OK maybe not that harsh, but I delayed upshifts and downshifted often to keep the engine rpms up for the first 1000 miles.  Them flatheads ran plenty strong after that

jbneal, thanks for the info. checked into the aviation ducting and ordered it up and arrived yesterday afternoon. very nice product

yup this looks like what i got yesterday, it is a rubbery type product with the wire inside and very flexible. maybe the more cloth type material is out there somewhere but i am very happy with this. ordered it from Aircraft Spruce out of Peachtree City, Georgia. 20210930_081044.jpg.a7587e87d3909767710c55e11ca79c5a.jpg

I looked for a LONG time for the cloth stuff for FEF....never did find any, used stuff from a Stude source....as close as I could get.
