Dennis Detweiler Posted August 4, 2021 Report Posted August 4, 2021 I have fog lights on my 39 plymouth. I also have cheapie aftermarket turn signals. Can I wire the fog lights for turn signals? Fog lights are Guide 2025-A. Do I need to add a resistor? Quote
desoto1939 Posted August 4, 2021 Report Posted August 4, 2021 Do your fog light have replaceable bulbs or are they sealed beam bulbs. If you have a single element bulb I would think you can just wire up directly to the appropriate front right or left wire from the turn signal switch. Also assuming that you have a 6 volt system and not 12 volt. So are you planning on haveing your fog light work and then blink as a turn signal. would have to have a doble filament bulb like a turn signal bulb 1158 but not sure if that is going to provide enought light to run the foglight to help light the roadway. So baisically what are you trying to accomplish??? I used the fender lamp mounted light that you find on the 39 Dodges and made them my turn signals. I have two of the outer metal body with the lens and might have the mounting plate not sure about the plate under the fender. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote
Dennis Detweiler Posted August 5, 2021 Author Report Posted August 5, 2021 It's a sealed 5 inch beam. I have a cheap generic turn signal mounted on the bumper brace. I am trying to make it look more authentic and keep the late 40's early 50's fog lights, but use them for the turn signals. If there was a 5 inch glass lens that would fit the chrome housing, I could probably use bulbs. It's still 6 volt. Quote
