Stopped there on the way back from the Black Hills a few years ago. I thought it was neat and the daughter really got a kick out of it. It makes for a good 30 minute get out and stretch your legs type thing on that wide open Nebraska plain.

Ben,

I think it'd be a fun drive next Spring because I should have my '48 P-15 roadworthy and painted by then, and it's not so far from here that it would put us on the dark side of the moon if anybody breaks down.

In the meantime we should hook up for coffee (or a beer; I'm rather flexible) because we live in the same town. I'm up on HP Hill (Taft and 14th SW) and don't work today other than trying to finish a Furd for a friend. Give a call sometime (593-1593) and we'll have the chance to lie to each other about our cars.

And I'd like to join you two but I have to make a work type run to Denver today.......ughhhhhh. I do like the idea of a spring run to somewhere. Carhenge is about a 30 minute stop max unless you are wanting to take a pose by every car. But, it is fairly close and may end up being just one of multiple stops. Fort Robinson (northern Nebraska) is a neat overnight destination. Lots of old west history there. And certainly a swing through Cheyenne and or Laramie WY would bring in a bunch of old west history opportunity as well. And there is a pretty decent Buffalo kill site in western Nebraska that has a lot of interesting stuff as well. We might be able to make a real road trip out of it.

......where one more old Plymouth is.

Best we can offer around here is a salvage yard with an older Caddy up

in the air on their sign.

Yes, getting together would be a fine idea. Today is not the day, however. I still have a few years until retirement, at least 30 more years, so I will be at my paying enterprise this afternoon. My usual schedule is out the door for work around 1:45 PM and back home around 12:00 AM. We have a "training session" today so I will be on my way no later than 12:15 PM today. I'm not sure what the wife's schedule is this weekend, but I think she has to be at work on Saturday so I will be free once she leaves for work.

I'm in an industry that supplies the hospitality business. Think of me the next time you have a turkey dinner at Perkins or a turkey sandwich at Quizno's, Subway, or Wendy's.

70,000 tom turkeys lose their lives every week where I work. Kind of small when you consider that a minimum of 95,000 hogs lost their lives every week at my last job. Only the PM and I think we are a small operation. I keep my mouth shut; he's free to be more vocal since he sits on top of the totem pole.

Hey Randy, John, and others...

I asked the wife when she has to be at work on Saturday. She is supposed to start her shift at 5:30 PM. So, I will place it your hands.

My wife has been around old car guys her whole life. Whether it was helping out at her dad's Mopar only car shows or going to the drag strip to watch dad and his car club race, she's familiar with the whole sub-culture. While she grew up w/ how fast will it go, she didn't deal a lot with automotive history until she met me. We can get together either after 5:30 PM for supper and lies or we can all have lunch. What do you guys think?

The weather is predicted to be decent on Saturday. I may get the Ol' Grey Mare out. It's been a few weeks.
