Dodgeb4ya Posted August 29, 2020 Report Posted August 29, 2020 I have had this same shut the car off hot....then try to start 10 minutes later. This has happened to me on my different 46-52 MoPars. My 1952 Plymouth ran fine on a good run. I shut it off. 10-20 minutes later it would not start...All Ignition primary stuff was good quality autolite..wires and plugs too.coil spark was a very thin quiet blue spark. I Bypassed the IGN SW...Fed the coil 6v direct still no start. Quickly grabbed another good used coil and installed it. Engine imediately started right up. This same has happened to me 3 or 4 times over the years. Coils do fail. Quote
DJ194950 Posted August 29, 2020 Report Posted August 29, 2020 As Dogeb4ya stated check the voltages to coil at the hot start up to check for low voltages. Wires get hot on usage as does in some cases the ign. switch itself. Other things he says he checked, do these checks also. I do not remember if you have stated a new coil or not? DJ Quote
