New member in our car club has a '48 Dodge D25 Club Coupe (same year and model as mine) that is original except for one repaint in the original colour. Woodgrain, interior, mechanics, etc. are in great shape as car only has just over 40,000 miles on it. This car also has an unusual MOPAR option that I mentioned a while ago on this forum. It is a vacuum operated whistle that sounds when the handbrake is on. Car has to be running of course before it works. Overall a very nice car with an appreciative owner.

Sharp looking car. That is the same colour as mine should be. There was a D25 business coupe advertised earlier this summer in Saskatoon that needed full restoration for $2500. Not too many of those left. Brendan.

Stunningly beautiful coupe!

Great to learn it is preserved original.

Come to think of it - Is the D25 same body as Plym P15 except the brightwork?

Does it have 230 or 218cid engine?

Yes, it is the same body as the P15 Plymouth but with different trim. It has the 218 engine but it is the long block engine (25 1/2 inches) as all Chrysler products built in Canad had the long block engine.

Robert, the radio antenna on this car is on the driver's side on mine and yours it is in the right side. Just curious which would have been original. This week I have been getting some work done on my Dodge. Another couple of days I shoul have all the body supports and outriggers, inner and outer rocker panels done. Brendan.

Congrats on the progress on your car, Brendan. I saw his antenna was on the driver's side also and wondered about it. As you say mine is on the passenger side but on my '53 Plymouth it is on the driver's side. I believe they were put on by the dealership where you bought your car so maybe it was just personal preference. I put the radio in my D25 though but I don't remember drilling a hole. Maybe it had an after market radio put in by someone else. I kinda like them on the driver's side so when I repaint my '48 next year I think I will change it and look for an antenna like the one on the other '48. Anyone else know which side it should go on?

Darin, our cars are Canadian built Dodges with a Plymouth body. There are a few differences form the P15 such as grille and the trunk brake light is the same as P15 but has Dodge on it and does't have the Mayflower on the lens,it's plain. You can see Robrt's D25 coupe on the main site and he shows the differences in D25 and P15. Brendan.

I've been drawn back to this page to gaze the picture of the D25 coupe a couple times a day... It's a sound portortioned car. I like the slightly pointed D25 grill actually even better than the plain D24 version of my own...

Do you know the name of the blue color on it? Is it a hue for canadian cars only? (Do not recall seeing a light blue on the US Dodge color chart...)

Sorry, I do not know the name of the blue colour. I sure like the colour also and if I was going to redo the colour on my car I would go with that blue. However, when I do repaint my '48 D25, I will stay with the darker blue it already has. Paint on mine looks OK from 20 feet but the car really needs a repaint.

I am not 100% sure but I think the colour name is " Marine Blue" and was also available on Plymouths. My car was repainted about thirty years ago and the painter used a VW color and it is a little lighter. It is supposed to be the same colour as that coupe. I agree it is a nice colour. You can see a pic of mine in my profile. Brendan.

Robert,

My car was told have been dark blue called "lullaby blue" from the factory. Would the color of your coupe be the same?

Nice car, the dark looks good on it as well.

Brendan, beautiful finish on your sedan - Looks flawless in the picture. It is a bit lighter than the coupe posted above. I suppose your car is close to the color often refered as "baby blue" :)

Not sure what the colour of my car is. I took a trunk hinge down to have the paint matched but that was over 20 years ago. They found a 1955 Chrylser colour that was nearly identical to the original colour on the trunk hinge. I believe the colour was called Yukon Blue. Hope that helps.
