PatS.... Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Not able to do a whole lot with the drugs, the weakness and the pain BUT, I can surf the local online classifieds. In July, doing that, I ended up with a dog!!! Been 12 years since my last one went to the off leash in the sky, and I wasn't looking for one, but this guy is now making the couch his: Then, last week, cruising through the same site I come across a motorhome being parted out. I thought, hey that would be good for cheap storage:eek: I called, all the parts that are gonna be sold are sold and I can have whats left for $200. Can't rent or build for that, so I go look. UUGGHH:mad: Good running 440 with new headers mufflers and dual exhaust. Good tires and brakes, new roof recently. Interior is stripped and shot but easily "restorable" if I decide to go that way. The neighbors love the new addition to the front yard:p I won't be cruising the classifieds anymore and I'll be telling the doc about the horrible side effects of these drugs!!! No old Mopar work (or any other work) until after the 10th of Oct MRI. I'm bored! Quote
Normspeed Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Pat, that's a great looking dog. How did you find him? That motorhome would make a pretty cool guest house in some parts of the country. My Father-in-law in New Mexico had a small Winnebago on his property, permanently set up. Makes a neat little guest hideaway. Quote

PatS.... Posted September 27, 2007 Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 Pat, that's a great looking dog. How did you find him? Norm, he was advertised for free with a pic on a website called http://www.usedcalgary.com/ He was on the Saskatoon Saskatchewan page. Met the owner in Lethbridge, he's a trucker, so it worked out good. Just under a year old and a bit of a rangy tang but a fast learner. Quote
PatS.... Posted September 27, 2007 Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 does it have for legs? no, he has four legs, and lots and lots of fur...or hair, or whatever:( Quote
Normspeed Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Well, he looks pretty darned happy to have a home. Quote

PatS.... Posted September 27, 2007 Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 He thinks he's too purdy to have to behave. He's in for a rude awakening. That motorhome could also be a doghouse!!!! Quote
Charlie Olson Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Plant a potted plant hedge in front of the new storage unit. Quote
Brendan D25 Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Pat, I bet if you advertised that 440 and tranny, guys restoring musclecars would grab it pretty fast for a tidy profit for you. Brendan. Quote

Brendan. Maybe, maybe not. Most of the motorhome 440's have a unique set of heads and waterpump that is not the same as car engines. Marty Quote

Brendan. Brendan, I'm sure it's worth more than $200, but I haven't had a decent holiday for years and maybe I can "restore" the interior and have at least one weekend of camping in this heap before I decide further. I'd like to see the look on the guys face who has a $600,000 Newell when I park the "Rat Ba$tard" beside him. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Pat......you could have a camp-out right in your driveway. Saw an older GM motorcoach today a fellow has done some work on to make it a motor home. He has the bathroom, the bedroom, holding and water tanks, and kitchen area fairly well done up. Said he actually lived in it for a few months after renting out his house and before finding another place. It is parked right beside his body shop, so now he uses it for an office. Says his wife (re-married some months ago) has no interest in the thing, so it will probably never be finished up. Ah, well---- And, he's still working on a VW trike using a modified body of a mid 50s Volkswagen beetle sedan. Kinda neat looking. He also has a 1951 Ford coupe (as opposed to a two door sedan) which he wants to section, but not chop the top. Something like this one..... Quote
