Geodd Posted September 24, 2019 Report Posted September 24, 2019 Thinking bigger valves will allow my engine to work less. What you folks done for bigger valves?? Thanks! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 24, 2019 Report Posted September 24, 2019 bigger valve are only needed in you are going to increase the lift and duration of the cam...if you are not changing your cam, also any increase in intake will effectively need a larger exhaust...but as stated, cam profile dictates all this....I would spend my money elsewhere on the engine like a better ignition so you can effective burn what you wasting now...get more bang for you buck in performance and at the gas pump (old folks will remember the ding ding of the gas pump and the whirling little balls...) 1 Quote

I DO remember the ding-ding!! Pop was a mechanic at the Exxon service station in Augusta, ME. In the 1970s. Yes, l will also upgrade the ignition l just know these heads don't have the best flow and was figuring not having to work as hard to move the air & fuel in and exhaust out. Not going to change the cam, just want to help the flow. Thanks for your reply!! Quote
