  1. Dropped the starter out of my 1941 Dodge WC-12. Starter is tagged as an Autolite MAW-4029 though I am NOT sure if it is correct. I pulled the armature and noticed it is stamped MAW 2030 whiiiiich l don't believe is correct. Anyone know what IS the correct armature OR the correct starter for my 41' Dodge WC-12?? Thanks.
  2. I couldn't get these images to load. Is there any way to get them from you? Thanks!!
  3. Must be great working on old iron like that.....
  4. Thanks for setting me straight!! I had read in a Dodge truck book that Dodge offered a 3 speed transmission with overdrive from 1933-1960. This was NOT an official manual but, it DID deal with the lighter trucks.
  5. Been planning on a Lycock Model J Overdrive for my 1941 WC-12 but, I totally forgot Dodge offered an Overdrive. Which one would have been used on a 41' 1/2 ton truck?? I understand the Lycock is going to be much newer and a relatively easy rebuild but, if I can go original, I would. I would appreciate hearing from other truck owners about their driving experiences with an overdrive. Thank you!
  6. I DO remember the ding-ding!! Pop was a mechanic at the Exxon service station in Augusta, ME. In the 1970s. Yes, l will also upgrade the ignition l just know these heads don't have the best flow and was figuring not having to work as hard to move the air & fuel in and exhaust out. Not going to change the cam, just want to help the flow. Thanks for your reply!!
  7. Thinking bigger valves will allow my engine to work less. What you folks done for bigger valves?? Thanks!
  8. 41'. They're just about all 41' when you're talking any of the WC with a model # less than 50. Those are the 1/2 ton models. Above 50 is the 42'-45 3/4 ton & 1 1/2 ton models.
  9. Just bought this WC-12. Named her Kittenfish. Can't wait to get her on the road!! First up is locking hubs. She's either got a 218 or 230 Flathead 6 and at some point will be getting dual carbs & headers. THEN a Lycock Model J Overdrive will be added. Just looking to do whatever I can to help her breath and work easier.... Would love to hear from any other WC 1/2 ton 4X4 owners who have done any of these mods!!
