Mick Blake Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 Would anyone have pictures of the brackets installed on the box for a 1948 Dodge pickup? Thanks Quote
Dennis_MN Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Here are a couple of shots of the bracket on my truck. I have no ideal whether or not this is the stock method of attachment. I would have thought the holes lower down would be mounting holes for this bracket. My bracket was welded on and since I was a poor farmers truck, there is only one taillight. 48WingNut Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Hey Mick....here's a few pic's on my 48 one ton. I'm sure there are all sorts of different ways the buggers are put on. The pic's show the tailights that were mounted after the truck was new. The original (single tailight) is mounted on my license plate bracket under the back left fender. Hope these help you out some. Good luck! Kevin. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 I have a bracket like Dennis' but mine is bolted on. I have no reason to believe that this isn't an original mount. Merle Quote
grey beard Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 Mick, Two types of bracket are used - either is correct. One is stamped steel, and can be had from Vintage Power Wagon and the other is cast and is shown on Roberts' web site and catalog. Take your pick. Of course we all know these trucks came originally with only one tail lamp, but we all seem to want two on the back - me too. I really like those "Dodge" script tail light lenses, but the package is sorta' spendy . . . LOL Quote
