Jerry Roberts Posted March 9, 2019 Report Posted March 9, 2019 I am trying to identify a windshield wiper pivot cover 883087 . It is marked DG , probably for Dodge and it has the CPCD mark . Thanks in advance . Quote
dpollo Posted March 10, 2019 Report Posted March 10, 2019 looks like it is from a 51 or 52 Plymouth however, even the low line models were chromed. Quote
51_Meadowbrook Posted March 10, 2019 Report Posted March 10, 2019 Is the hole on the top supposed to be covered? And what is it covered with? Whats the purpose of that hole? Quote

DonaldSmith Posted March 10, 2019 Report Posted March 10, 2019 Oil hole. Part of the routine maintenance. Quote
51_Meadowbrook Posted March 10, 2019 Report Posted March 10, 2019 The ones in my car are open. There is nothing in them. Should I get screws for them? And what type of oil should I put in the hole? Quote
DonaldSmith Posted March 10, 2019 Report Posted March 10, 2019 Per the service manual, lubricate the Windshield Wiper Pivots every 10,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first, with "Light Engine"Oil". Quote
51_Meadowbrook Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 When it rains the rain slowly drips into car from the wiper pivot covers. Theoretically I can assume that they are leaking through that hole, that should have a screw/cover in it? Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted March 11, 2019 Author Report Posted March 11, 2019 It looks like the pivot cover should have a gasket at the bottom too . Quote
