Dan Heston Posted October 19, 2018 Report Posted October 19, 2018 I bought a new old stock steering wheel and horn ring for my 51. How do I get the center emblem out of the horn ring to get started on the removal? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 19, 2018 Report Posted October 19, 2018 Not having owned a car like yours, am just guessing here.......look or feel on the back side of the horn ring center, around the center of the wheel for any recessed holes that may contain bolts to attach the horn ring from the rear side. If there are no holes/bolts on the back side of the wheel center, then I think there is a method of gently prying out the horn center. Hopefully some true experts will add better info. Do you have a parts or repair manual for your car? 1 Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted October 19, 2018 Report Posted October 19, 2018 Push down and turn CCW the center horn button.... it should pop up. Yours does too as long as its the stock wheel and horn ring. There are three "L" tangs that need to be turned CCW... 1 Quote
ebruns1 Posted July 14, 2019 Report Posted July 14, 2019 Would this work for my 1948 Chrysler? It's got that big chrome semi-circle in the center of the wheel. Thanks! Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted July 15, 2019 Report Posted July 15, 2019 The Chrysler center cap can be carefully pried up and off. Quote
