Loffy770 Posted July 29, 2018 Report Posted July 29, 2018 Hi, I need a bit of advice before I go about and remove the oil strainer pipe from my 230. I have tested a bit to see how hard it sits in the block and it seems to sit very hard.. How do you guys remove it in a safe way? Or am I to exspect it to be wacked and replaced..? Roger Quote
49roadster Posted July 29, 2018 Report Posted July 29, 2018 (edited) Should be a 5/16 bolt holding it. I am thinking you mean the crankcase vent pipe on right rear of the block. Edited July 29, 2018 by 49roadster added info 1 Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted July 29, 2018 Report Posted July 29, 2018 (edited) If you do mean the engine oil pickup pipe... just pull the cotter pin that retains the floating PU screen..pull out the PU screen..... insert a proper sized steel rod into the PU pipe still on the block and twist /unscrew the pipe.
