I'm thinking about installing dual headers/exaust on my B2B. As I examine the underside, though, my concern is the location of the gas tank. It seems to be in the way of the traditional route for the driver side pipe/muffler. Has anyone done duals on a truck and, if so, how'd you route the left side pipe? How 'bout a picture or two?

That's an obvious solution, but I wanted to try and keep both pipes roughly equal in length. I thought that was the whole idea behind "tuned" headers...

If keeping them the same length is important, why not run them both down the passenger side (unless you want folks to think you've got a Hemi under the hood).

Pretty hard top keep them the same length on a flathead, isn't it?

Here's a photo of a woody with dual exhaust (wish it was mine)

Motor bikes have a "Ballance Pipe" ( ) which conects the two sides, equalising the exhaust pressure. You need the same exhaust pressure in each pipe to run smoothly, particullarly at high revs. (my interpretation of whatandwhy was under my GPZ)

Decided to make it look like the inline six dual exhaust it is rather than making it look like a V8 dual set up. All a matter of taste. I did not put on a balance pipe as I wanted to retain the unique inline 6 sound with my blue bottles.

Still need to add the chrome exhaust tips.
