BobT-47P15 Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 Shel.....you may recall that several months ago I found a car that had the body of a 1951 Plymouth, but the grille and nameplates of a DeSoto. I first thought someone had done a switch job on a Plym. Turned out it was an export model sent to Japan when new. So it really was a DeSoto. Possibly that's what you found.....with maybe a Plym trunk lid to replace the original. Or, maybe not........ Just a wild guess. Quote
Lee Exline Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 If it is a Desoto Diplomat the serial number would be SP18 not just P18 Quote
Phil Martin Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 In the 50,s canadian dodges had plymouth rearend an plymouth had dodge rearend. Maybe they did this with desoto and plymouth too. My brother has a picture of a 56 dodge with plymouth rearend that we saw in canada when we were young car nuts. Quote
